I 100% should have taken today off too. I initially didn’t plan to stay in NYC til Sunday so I was gonna use the whole day to recharge but whatev! I had fun despite my depleted internal battery.
I’m really not a fan of the woman who works with me now. She’s been here 20 years and keeps asking me questions about literally everything like LISTEN LADY. I’ve been here FIVE WEEKS. It’s so annoying.
I planned on coming home and passing the fuck out after work but instead I did a 180 and cleaned like crazy. I vacuumed, did dishes, dusted, washed and FOLDED two loads of laundry!! Who’s better than me?? Not a single person!

Seseña (Toledo, Spain) January 08 2011: Locomotive 253.101.0 of the company Comsa Rail Transport with the merchant train, Vigo - Sagunto.
This bus was new to Lothian Buses as 163 in 2008.
Seen here on Princes Street.
This is one of the latest buses to be painted in this single deck version of the revised Madder and White livery.
Gradually shifting from car engines to airplanes, this is the ME-163 rocket fighter of the WWII Luftwaffe... as seen through the gun camera of a P-47 Thunderbolt in the process of shooting it down. Far faster than any Allied aircraft in powered flight, it only carried about 8 minutes' worth of fuel and spent much of its time gliding. This allowed a fast propeller driven fighter to catch up and get a shot at it. ME-163s had about a 2:1 kill ratio against Allied planes, but there weren't enough of them for that to make much difference.
Active in 1944, the ME-163 was in development before the US entered the war.

163-045 of CD Cargo in a light run is approaching the entrance signal of Gdańsk Motława Most, remote controlled junction on its way to Gdańsk Port Północny station, where it probably takes some coal to the Czech Republic. August 13, 2019.
I was wondering what is the origin of the nickname "pershing" so the Czech Wikipedia gives a very interesting explanation of it. When this modern class was introduced in Czechoslovakia in the middle of the 80s of the twentieth century, the locomotives ocurred as quite faulty, although they had impressive acceleration. So the combination of "quick launch - short range" just like Pershing II misssiles being then deployed in Western Europe seemed very accurate in relation to these locomotives.

163.045 społeczności Czeskie Dragi Cargo, luzem zbliża się do semaforów posterunku odgałęźnego (automatycznie sterowanego) Gdańsk Motława Most, w swojej drodze po linii 227 do stacji Gdańsk Port Północny, gdzie podejmie zapewne jakiś węgiel na Czechy. 13 sierpnia 2019 roku.
Zastanawiałem się, skąd się wzięła ksywka "pershing" w Czechach, no i czeska wikipedia podaje bardzo fajną genezę tego przezwiska. Otóż gdy powstała ta seria, w środku lat 80. XX wieku, maszyny charakteryzowały się dużą awaryjnością, posiadały też dobre przyspieszenie. Kombinacja "szybki start - krótki zasięg" jak nic pasuje do pocisków Pershing II, które były rozmieszczone wtedy w Europie Zachodniej.

I'm gutted I didn't get to see the Tall Ships due to been away all weekend. Everyone has told me it was wonderful and everyone is very proud to be from Hartlepool. I caught a tiny bit when the ships sailed off at 6pm but expected to see more sails :(
I think a longer lens will be on my christmas list after seeing the big daddy lenses some people had!!
MSH August 2010 "local hero" the Tall Ships has been Hartlepool's local hero, 970,000 visitors apparently!
