Jeanne Hauser is trying out my 1991 Lomo LC-A while I take a picture of her with my 1988 Lomo LC-A. In her studio / physical therapy space, she has 49 framed photographs of San Francisco shot from her Holga. Nice colors and amazing detail. She was looking for a publisher for her work at the time i shot this a year ago. She's just released her first book! She is one of the few artists I was able to visit during the SF Open Studios weekends (www.artspan.org). It's an event where artists throughout San Francisco open their studios for folks to come enjoy art, chat, drink wine, walk the neighborhood, and just enjoy SF. Jeanne's work was featured during weekend one. See more of her work at jeannehauser.com
she was one of the first folks I dared to ask why she shot on film. she said because the holga is so different from anything digital. I have different reasons, as i really prefer my LC-A. To each their own preferences. :-)

...Don't Mug Little Old Ladies.
I've had a lot of chances to check out the fascinating paraphernalia associated with this truck over the years. This is my favorite part of it.
I've been seeing this around the neighborhood for years. My dad resents this guy for parking two commercial vehicles on the street. Also, once we tried to hire him to help us with a squirrel infestation, but he kept ignoring our phone calls.
Incidentally, his other car is actually a vintage ambulance (exactly like Ecto-1 from the Ghostbusters; I am NOT kidding!) with signs on it warning you to stay away, since it may contain wild animals. I think it's pretty awesome.
A man roller-blading with his son in a stroller, maneuvering around an empty police car, parked (illegally) in the 15th St cycle track. The car is from the 2nd District, car # 299. 15th & K NW, Washington, DC.
The car is conveniently in front of a Cosi's.
This corner gas station recently replaced their tall pole sign with a shorter sign, with a faux-brick decoration. Washington, DC.
The gas is expensive: $3.15.9 for regular, $3.29.9 for Plus, and $3.39.9 for Ultra 93.
See shot from March, when the station was still a Mobil: Tree-Planting at Mobil.
