The 140 Vintage Running Day on 23rd November 2019 commemorated the service of route 140 to Heathrow Airport, with RTs, RMs and Ms running the full route from Heathrow up to Harrow Weald, Bus Garage. Some journeys even continued along the old 140 route to Mill Hill (which is now the 114).
The weather was typically wintry: dark and wet, but nonetheless the day offered the potential for a number of unique photos.
Here is Routemaster RM545 WLT545 with a journey bound for Harrow Weald by Hayes Asda.

I had my second vaccination yesterday and have felt fine, just mega tired. Also I had a bike ride in strong wind, so maybe that contributed. Plus I did a load of housework for my parents.
Anyway, I flopped out on the sofa, next thing I knew almost two hours had passed!

On a rather damp Saturday 23 November 2019, London bus route 140 Harrow-Heathrow celebrated its history and marked its imminent shortening by supplementing 15 heritage buses into the existing service. This meant Volvo / Wright Gemini buses (and a solitary Plaxton President) were joined by 8 RTs, 5 Routemasters and 2 Metrobuses for the day.
My visit included photo stops at Hayes, Heathrow and Harrow Weald taking advantage of free rides aboard RM1397, M1069 and RT2177.

Im Sommer 2016 war das Ende der Baureihe 140 bei der DB bereits beschlossene Sache. Letztes Einsatzgebiet waren Mischer von Seelze Richtung Braunschweig und Wolfsburg. Einen solchen hatte 140 850 im August 2016 am Haken. Sie wurde Anfang 2017 als letzte Cargo-140 ausgemustert und befindet sich seit Ende 2018 im Bestand der BayernBahn.
