Mittlerweile Geschichte ist der Einsatz der Baureihe 111 mit Doppelstockwagen auf dem Ersatzverkehr des RE 8 zwischen Würzburg und Stuttgart. 111 137 fuhr im vergangenen Sommer durch den Ochsenfurter Gau und wird in Kürze den Bahnhof Geroldshausen passieren.

went outside to take a few photos before i headed off to a family friend's house for dinner. i'm still here right now and it's not very exciting. nyah and my laptop is getting too hot.

A friend gave me a tip that an Amtrak work train was coming east behind a pair of MP15s. I'd long wanted to shoot them here so eschewed sleep and came down to wait...alas they took much longer than expected and I finally had to give up and head for homem. But at least my failed endeavor yielded these three trains in the span of 25 min (plus a fourth I didn't photograph), and despite being mundane now, soon enough I'll be glad I have them when first generation Acelas and Amfleets are just a memory.
This is one of if not THE prettiest scenes along the Northeast Corridor in The Ocean State and it can still offer up enough variety now and then to be interesting. Here is Boston to Washington Amtrak regional train 137 with ACS64 620 leading the standard Amfleet consist railroad west over Apponaug Cove at MP 174.5 on Amtrak's New Haven Line main.

We finally got back to one of our favourite places to walk. After having to shelter under the trees whilst a rain storm passed over the rest of our walk was dry and most enjoyable.
