Voorbehouden aan de prestigieuze TEE-treinen was de Baureihe 103 ten tijde van deze opname allang niet meer. Dit is een opname uit de tijd dat ik net begonnen was met spoorwegfotografie. Hier ben ik duidelijk alleen op de locomotief gefocust en niet zozeer op de gehele trein, maar daarvoor sta ik hier ook verkeerd. Volgens mijn administratie is dit foto 15 en gemaakt in augustus 1994. Dat het op die dag bloedheet was, kan ik me nog wel herinneren. Maar daar had ik weinig last van gezien het grote aantal fascinerende treinen dat passeerde. Hier komt de 103 137 (Krupp, 1971) met een interregio naar Aachen Hbf langs het perron van Herzogenrath. Foto is gemaakt met een kleine plastic camera met verschuifbare lens: een ‘telestand’ en een ‘panoramastand’ met een lachwekkend minimaal verschil tussen beide. Aan de achterkant moest ik de behuizing met zwarte tape dicht plakken, anders kwam er licht bij het fotorolletje. Maar de foto is er. Hebben is houden, zullen we maar zeggen.

Crocoite is a mineral consisting of lead chromate, PbCrO4, and crystallizing in the monoclinic crystal system. It is identical in composition with the artificial product chrome yellow used as a paint pigment.

Crocoite is commonly found as large, well-developed prismatic adamantine crystals, although in many cases are poorly terminated. Crystals are of a bright hyacinth-red color, translucent, and have an adamantine to vitreous luster. On exposure to UV light some of the translucency and brilliancy is lost. The streak is orange-yellow; Mohs hardness is 2.5–3; and the specific gravity is 6.0.
