In partnership with the United Nations Information Center and the United Nations Foundation, the USC Center on Public Diplomacy (CPD) hosted a forum in Washington, DC on Thursday, May 12. The forum explored the vital role of public diplomacy in engaging a broad array of stakeholders to implement the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The program featured a variety of perspectives, including case discussions by Canada and Mexico.

Last Wednesday, April 12, the IVC Disability Support Programs for Students (DSPS) hosted Disability Awareness Day where they created simulations for students to experience what having certain disabilities might feel like, the challenges, and the importance of accessibility.

Soldiers assigned to the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), trained the SPDHG on memorial affairs, Apr. 8-12. The police officers, who traveled nearly 3,000 miles, learned the details of flag folding, casket carrying and the duties of a firing party during the five-days of instruction on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va.

The Kennet & Avon Canal was designed by John Rennie, and was constructed between 1794 and 1810; the Bath-Devizes section opened in 1804. In 1852 the canal was bought by its main competitor, the Great Western Railway, who raised tolls and slowly decreased maintenance. The GWR were refused permission to close the canal in 1926, but by the time of nationalisation large parts of it were no longer navigable. Restoration started following the 1963 separation of British Rail and British Waterways, and was formally announced complete in 1990.
The Miami Heat, as part of their Home Strong Campaign headed by team president Pat Riley, invited local service members and the families of those who have paid the ultimate price in service to our nation, to a special event at the American Airlines Arena, Wednesday, Oct. 12. The group was treated to lunch in the VIP Club, met with players, coaches and Riley. The Gold Star families each talked about the sacrifice of their loved ones with individual players, who will be honoring those lost by wearing their names on their jerseys during five games played near Veteran’s Day.

I took a walk with Hande at Deer Lake after class. It was an impromptu decision. We had dinner at Metrotown. I remember this tiny flower catching my attention. I had to take a shot of it.
It was a good time. I was basking in His presence. I was taking in God's magnificence in His creation.

Well my trip has ended I got back yesterday and I had an amazing time, I am a little tired at the moment so I have only processed 2 photos tonight, now I'm off to bed before I head back to work tomorrow!
This was one of the salticids I found on my daily walks on the 5 days I was in the Ecuadorian Amazon in the region south of Coca along the River Tiguina. Lodge Bataburo was wonderful, thanks for the recomendation James!! The staff were great! Even on the night we drunk a heap of cubu libres and played cards with another Austrian Couple, we weren't causing trouble probably just a bit loud oh and we played till 2 or 3am.... :) We had a knock on our cabin at 7.15am for breakfast, and it was raining so we had a bit of a morning reprieve until it eased off about 12. The walk the next day in the jungle was our punishment :) it was so humid after that rain, the walk seemed to go forever :) More photos to come soon!

On Wednesday, October 12, the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea supported the British Embassy Seoul, in hosting a reception for companies working in the clean energy and maritime sector. About 50 companies attended, many of whom were participating in the Green & Offshore Korea 2022 trade. The reception was held on the 33rd floor of the Park Hyatt Busan. The opening remarks were delivered by Colin Crooks LVO, British Ambassador to South Korea and John Hutchinson, Head of Maritime from the Department of International Trade (DIT) who was visiting Seoul. The BCCK was honoured to play a part in celebrating the success of British companies and their Korean partners in this area.

The start of reality -- a hole in the ground and this and subsequent pictures tells the story.
On Friday, April 12, the Girls of Leadership and Distinction (G.O.L.D.) participated in the Youth Half Marathon held in the Sandhills area. The Palmetto Half Marathon is one of Columbia’s newest half marathons. This was the very first marathon many of our girls ran in. Each participant received a custom t-shirt, official finisher's medal, and the right to say they ran a half marathon! This endeavor coincided perfectly with our organization's mission of community service, goal-setting, positive behavior choices, and personal achievements.
They also met and took a picture with Mayor Steve Benjamin who congratulated them on their efforts.
