Built in 1797, as one of the oldest hostelries in the region, Cashtown Inn had served “for the entertainment of strangers and travelers” since 1815. That fateful summer of 1863, however, Cashtown Inn served hundreds of unwelcome strangers, including Confederate Gens. A.P. Hill, Henry Heth, and John D. Imboden. Suffering from a chronic ailment when he arrived at Cashtown at the head of his corps on June 29, the 37-year old Hill set up his headquarters in the relative comfort of Cashtown Inn. It was a good choice. For decades Cashtown Inn had been touted for its “healthy neighborhood; pure mountain air” and “daily bath” in fine waters from a natural spring flowing through the cellar. The cellar also included two giant brick ovens where Confederate commissaries could bake bread in abundance.

including using the bottom of a baking pan and hanging a plastic bag - from the chandelier, in my case.
I had a lot of difficulty getting the focus right because I was using a 12mm extension tube which greatly reduced the DOF - and since the water wasn't landing in exactly the same spot each time, the focus would shift around. I guess if I shot from on top, I would have had more success capturing one of the water crowns. But this one came out pretty good.
I liked the way it looked kind of like a roulette wheel, with the ball spinning on the outside.
Background bokeh is just some crumpled tinfoil taped on to some poster board (also an idea I got from Lighthack). The color comes mostly from the wooden table I had the set up on.
I like these effects, so I'll have to keep working on this technique.
