SBB Class Re 4/4'' 11254 was one of the locos hired to BLS during 2008 to support their various RE service operations. RE3261 has just arrived at Mülenen from Bern and would continue to Brig via Kandersteg.

JSC2000-E-11254 (5 April 2000) --- Astronaut Susan J. Helms, STS-101 mission specialist, prepares to leave Houston's Ellington Field aboard a T-38 jet trainer, headed for Florida. Helms and the rest of the crew will arrive later in the day to take part in Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) activities that include emergency egress training and a dress rehearsal for launch. Helms, along with five other astronauts and a cosmonaut representing the Russian Aviation and Space Agency, comprise the crew of the third assembly flight for the International Space Station.
During the early days of the 2010 sugar beet traffic operations, SBB Cargo Class Re 4/4'' locomotives 11254 & 11311 were recorded arriving at Yvonand with ten loaded Eaos wagons from Yverdon-les-Bains. They were en route to Aarberg via Payerne and would make a traffic stop here to collect additional loaded wagons for onward movement.

Fall Along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway in Baker County Oregon.
Hells Canyon Scenic Byway is a loop that encircles the Wallowa Mountains, intersecting with Interstate 84 at Baker City and La Grande. During the fall the byway is an ideal route for exploring the regions fall foliage and autumn splendor. For this trip we were able to explore the small towns of Halfway, Richland, and a short side trip to the ghost town of Cornucopia and the Cornucopia Lodge.
The byway is a popular destination for group tours and offers visitors a chance to experience small town Americana in small towns like Halfway, as they explore the rugged and spectacular Northeast Oregon landscape along the way.
The entire route is on a paved highway. Plan ahead - you'll find stretches of more than eighty miles without gas and with few services. A segment of the Byway between Joseph and Halfway closes with snow in winter, but allows access to winter recreation areas, offering a whole other kind of Northeast Oregon Adventure.
Hwy 86 between Baker City and the Hells Canyon Dam at the bottom of the canyon is open year round providing visitors access to the deepest river gorge in North America.
