Traveling ahead of the 1111 movement was a Council Bluffs to North Omaha Yard transfer job with a pair of Geep Sixties. They stopped when they encountered water over the rail on the north end of BNSF's Gibson Yard where the track transitions back to UP ownership; delaying both trains until MOW arrived to walk them through it. In the background, a BNSF job is crossing over the Missouri River on UP's Omaha Sub.

Western Vanguard rolls through Newton Abbot with an unknown Class 47 lurking in the background. This was taken while on a West of England rail-rover in 1975 where one of the challenges was waking up and getting off the London bound over night train to connect with the down one. Oddly enough, not once did we all oversleep and end up in London.
The state of 1069 is best described as scruffy and this is one of several photos that had defied being restored to some sort of decent image. Then came along a programme which had a magic touch and it is now in some semblence of quality. It took 3 stages to get it light enough. Not surprisingly it was one that was not good enough to post until all the tweaking that took place.
(Tweaking, not twerking!)
