cwd2901 ~ Nine
This is my third try to shoot the number nine. I needed to find an interesting enough subject to shoot. I do have a shot that shows all the nine spoons, but it was not very appealing to me. In this shot, the viewer can use his or her imagination to see the rest of the spoons in the eye of their minds.
Super tight shot of my Lamy Safari fountain pen. Shot with my Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS USM macro lens plus a full set of stacked Kenko extension tubes (36mm + 20mm + 12mm). Handheld. Not cropped.
Just playing. I bored.
Here is another shot I took earlier in the day.

It is a small deciduous tree growing to 10–15 m tall with a trunk up to 40 cm in diameter, though usually smaller and often with multiple trunks, and a spreading crown of long, arching branches. The bark is smooth, olive-green with regular narrow pale vertical stripes on young trees, eventually becoming dull grey-brown at the base of old trees. The leaves are 6–18 cm long and 4–9 cm broad, with a petiole 3–6 cm long; they are dark green above, paler below, ovate, unlobed or weakly three-lobed, with a serrated margin. They turn to bright yellow, orange or red in the autumn. The flowers are small, yellow, with five sepals and petals about 4 mm long; they are produced on arching to pendulous 7–12 cm racemes in late spring, with male and female flowers on different racemes. The samara nutlets are 7–10 mm long and 4–6 mm broad, with a wing 2–3 cm long and 5 mm broad.

So many of my pretentious contacts here on flickr have been flaunting iPhones in their streams. I guess it was only a matter of time, and when my old and trusty Nokia 6630 started acting up, I knew the moment had come.
*** Disclaimer
With pretentious I mean nice, friendly and with flaunting I mean showcasing ;)

My trusted light meter, the Sekonic L-358. For the background I was inspired this shot by dCap Foto. Processed in Lightroom 2.3 and Photoshop CS3.
Shot in natural light, backlit with a white reflector in front.
Edit (March 6, 2009): I replaced the picture with a different edit where I made the plastic body look more like brushed metal and I also made the screen look brighter.

Gift from my sister, k9luv. It's the size of a regular credit card, but is made of metal and is gold plated.
