Vermont Route 100 is a north–south state highway in Vermont in the United States. Running through the center of the state, it travels nearly the entire length of Vermont and is 217 miles long. VT 100 is the state's longest state highway, the longest north-south route in Vermont, and the longest numbered highway in Vermont of any type. The road is the main thoroughfare for some of Vermont's most well-known resort towns, including Wilmington, Ludlow, Killington, Warren, and Stowe. Despite this, the road retains a rural feel through most of the towns it traverses.
Ahem...That was...different.
Honestly, I cannot thank the 107 of you who chose to follow me, enough. It means a great deal to me and you have my gratitude.
A special thanks to Slight.of.brick, who chose to shout me out not once, but twice! Thank you.
Now, another good thing about this is that I can use this post to give updates...Not many that I can think of apart from the fact that I no longer have access to Microsoft office so my Doctor who series may become ever so slightly more infrequent. I had to use macs solution: keynote, which is an utter b*****d to save pictures from.
On the bright side at least I can still access my episode plans, even if I can't edit them...
Anywho, back on track. To conclude, Thank you everyone who follows me (here, obviously. Not in real life 'cos that'd be creepy) and I hope you all continue to follow me in the future :)
Thank you to all that have followed me so far! It hasn't been a year yet but happy to say I've reached one of my milestones! Thanks to all!!!
Kodak Ektar 100, Pentax K1000, ND8, exposure of about 20sec... i also destroyed a very nice pair of converse getting this shot!
More than any other stranger I have added to this project I have hesitated over this shot. This is Eddy who was sitting outside a cafe nursing an empty cup of tea when I spotted him. I almost walked on by, I really wasn't sure about approaching him to take part in this project, but I wanted to chat to him, to listen to his story, to see if he would allow me to buy him another cup of tea. So I did stop and ask if I could join him, and as is so often the case, he gave a lovely smile and replied "of course". I spent quite a long time chatting to Eddy, telling each other stories of our lives, laughing occasionally, and I listened intently as he spoke, stories of fun and a few of hardship.
I guess the reason I hesitate posting this shot is the initial impact of the shot on the viewer, if like me you have made a judgement about him then you are partly right and partly wrong. I won't relate his tale, but it is sad and rewarding at the same time, suffice to say he has lived a full and colourful life so far.
As for the processing, this is the forth attempt at the shot I have toyed with, the colour versions seem to emphasise a story or character that wasn't the man I met.
Was he happy to talk, "I sit alone at home and chat to the TV for company a lot of the time. People think I'm mad, I just like to talk and keep my mind active."
I hope we meet again Eddy.

I was looking at the shadows on the white tent and thinking what a good background it would make, when Susan and Mike walked by and generously agreed to pose.
This is the 9th photo of my 100 strangers project.
