Standing next to the large corrugated iron shed at Ramsey is Beyer-Peacock number 10, G.H. Wood, the locomotive dates from 1905.
The porter is probably engaged in unloading the train with goods that had arrived at Douglas. This line closed in 1968.

OP72 was an early stalwart on the Fosseway Flyer service, and left us in 2011 for a new life in Norfolk, with Norfolk Green.
Fast forward 10 years (from the first photo) and Stagecoach, having bought Norfolk Green, are selling this Tempo along with at least four others for further use.
Last night, our workshop got a phone call asking if we could assist with an overheating Optare Tempo, possibly with a failed fan thermostat - one of our mechanics went to assist only to find..... OP72
My guess is it just fancied a visit! Seen 10 years apart in almost the same spot - albeit facing the opposite direction, OP72 - YJ06YSP, welcome home!
What's really great about this project is that I can sketch out a design and then follow through with it during the week and post it on Saturday feeling content. The completion of the process is so satisfying, particularly when I print something I really like, like last week's image.

Location: Novellara (Reggio Emilia - Italy).
Subject: Novellara is a little, lovely town of the Po Valley (or Padan Plain, as it is also known), in the Reggio Emilia province. As in many others towns and cities of this territory, the arcade is a typical architectural element, which with the low winter sun can create beautiful light effects. Of course, this picture could also represent a vision of a still and quiet provincial life, or of the solitude of a man strolling alone.

a few lovely contacts tagged me, and a bunch more have posted their lists. they've been so much fun to read & they've been enlightening too. so here are mine. . .
1. If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
I'd give so much for one more evening with my Dad, but this says meet, not bring back from the dead so I'm going to cheat a little and go with a duo, Charles and Ray Eames.
Maybe you've noticed, I've got a little thing for mid-century design, and these two, a husband and wife team, before that was fashionable, did so much to democratize good design.
Besides, I figure the pair that created so much that was ingenious, playful and colorful would have to be fun dinner companions.
2. What did you wanna be when you grew up?
a children's book author/illustrator

3. What's your biggest asset?
cool-headed reason in times of emotional distress
4. What's your favorite late nite snack?
chocolate & cheese - either/or - not both at the same time.
small quantities of the best dark chocolate (w/ sea salt) & the runniest cheese I can afford.
and if you know the band with an album titled my two favorite late night foods, 10 bonus points to you.
5. If money were no object, what would you like to do?
Some travel. Buy a pied a terre in New York City. Spend summer on the ocean in a house big enough to accommodate a steady stream of family and friends and with a big light-filled studio.
Or purchase a big parcel of wild, beautiful land, help design the house of my dreams, and situate yurts, re-habbed vintage Airstream trailers, and ornate gypsy caravans as guest houses about the property and give friends and family open invitation to come hang out.
6. Name one talent you wish you had.
so many - I've always wanted to know how to surf, I'd love to be fluent in Japanese, and I feel like I've got the soul of a pool shark, even though I can't shoot for beans.
But I think I'll go with the practical - feign interest. I. just. can't! and I think it would be really useful if I could.

Mostra fotografica del Circolo Nazionale Cultura Fotografica per Aisla
La mostra si propone di raccogliere fondi per sostenere la ricerca scientifica sulla Sclerosi Laterale Amiotrofica, rara malattia neurodegenerativa al momento inguaribile che comporta la completa paralisi dei muscoli volontari. I malati di Sla (in Italia sono circa 5.000) con il tempo non sono così più in grado di muoversi, nutrirsi, comunicare e respirare autonomamente pur mantenendo intatte, nella maggior parte dei casi, le loro capacità cognitive. Per questa opera meritoria, il Circolo Nazionale Cultura Fotografica ha scelto come partner l’Associazione Italiana Sclerosi Laterale Amiotrofica, Onlus che dal 1983 è impegnata a promuovere su tutto il territorio nazionale la tutela, l’assistenza e la cura dei malati di Sla e dei loro familiari, anche sostenendo diversi progetti di ricerca, per assicurare a queste persone una migliore qualità di vita e rinnovare le speranze in un futuro senza Sla: «Il tema della mostra è “Movimento” e vuole rappresentare una sorta di speranza, una via d’uscita dall’immobilità che provoca la Sla, un immaginario di fiducia nella prospettiva di uscire da questa malattia - spiegano i promotori dell’evento, a cui contribuiranno più di 50 fotografi del circolo nazionale Cultura Fotografica - Movimento del corpo, del respiro, dello “spirito”. Alberi, vento come alito di vita, mare, acqua, voli d’uccelli: simboli che richiamano la voglia di vivere. Figure che danzano, che resistono, che si muovono verso un futuro in cui la ricerca possa offrire finalmente una soluzione ad una malattia fino ad ora incurabile».
Dopo l’inaugurazione che avverrà a Pavia in concomitanza con l’annuale convegno scientifico di Aisla Onlus la mostra si sposterà a Milano dove rimarrà aperta nella sede nazionale di Aisla Onlus (Viale Ortles 22, presso Fondazione Filarete) fino al 23 dicembre.
Per contribuire alla buona causa, sarà possibile prenotare copie delle fotografie inviando una richiesta tramite e-mail all’indirizzo: info@aisla.it ed indicando la modalità di donazione/versamento (IBAN e c/c postale). Il contributo minimo richiesto per avere una copia certificata della foto d’arte è di 100 euro. Sarà inoltre possibile aggiudicarsi una copia del catalogo della mostra con un contributo minimo di 15 euro.

Yay, my 10 facts on Tony! I'll put his full backstory up soon which will explain most of this in more detail but for now...
1. The height thing: he technically qualifies as a little person (just), though he doesn't have any form of dwarfism. In fact he's never actually been diagnosed with anything
2. He's incredibly smart and extremely gifted with computers, but his social skills are very lacking. He shows signs of aspergers but some parts of his personality don't fit the spectrum so again he's never actually been diagnosed
3. He considers Knox his first true friend and is immensely loyal to her (even if she is hopeless with computers)
4. He's not sure what his sexuality is. Lin's theory is that he is asexual, Dexter thinks he's technosexual (attracted to computers), Knox says he's "whatever the hell he wants to be so leave him alone!"
5. Before he moved up to Canada to help Knox with her project, it had been over a year since he left his house. He had food delivered and did everything else on-line, he just never saw the need to leave.
6. When he's not working on the computer his other hobby is reprogramming video games, he and Knox first bonded over a game of Mario with machine guns
7. He's not a full RIOT agent like Knox or Wolf, instead he does work for them on contract in exchange for protection from the government (if they knew what he was doing with Knox his contract would be shredded and RIOT would stop protecting him)
8. He gets a very small monthly pay from RIOT but never has to worry about money. He set a program running several years ago that steals tiny amounts from large bank accounts and supplements his income with far more than he needs
(Dexter has been trying to get him to set up the same program for himself)
9. The second bedroom in Knox's apartment is technically his, but he never uses it. He claims he can't sleep without his computer system near him so he sleeps on the couch in the living room. Knox offered to get him a computer screen colored night light but he says it's not the same, besides he's small so the couch works fine for him
10. He practically lives off hot pockets and microwave meals, he's benefited from Knox dating Dexter since Dex refuses to eat that stuff and often cooks for all three of them

It's here, on my way back to Ram Jhula, I decided to give my spare glasses, noticing how bad his eyesight was, keeping the 10 Rupees so close to his eyes, not able to recognize people by sight, living in a world of phantasmagoria.

Alright, first of all, no I have not died. Working 2 jobs has kept me busy! But this past week, Ford achieved a pretty remarkable feat. The 10 millionth Mustang was built in Flat Rock, Michigan. As a tribute, the 10 millionth car was a V8 manual convertible painted in Wimbledon White, which is a direct tribute to the first production car to be built. Since I recently bought a Mustang myself, I figured there's no better way to celebrate than to build models out of Lego!
The successful tendering for the Bexley area services from January 1988 forwards saw Selkent establish a low cost unit at the preciously closed Bexleyheath garage.
The fleet comprised of ageing Fleetlines - some bought back from Clydeside Scottish, Nationals, and twenty eight leased Leyland Olympians, which came from a cancelled GM Buses order.
They had Northern Counties single-doorway bodies to GMPTE specification. The three-track number blinds were amended to single-track set number blinds, and were finished in Eastbourne Corporation blue and cream livery, with Bexleybus logos.
The Olympians were numbered 1-28 in the Bexleybus fleet, but also had London Buses 'L' fleetnumbers on internal records.
Number 10 (L273 in LBL money) is seen at the front of Bexleyheath garage.

Hinterm verkratzten Glas sieht man die leeren Bücherregale; ein Mahnmal von Micha Ullman.
Bei Nacht sind die Regale besser zu sehen und zu fotografieren.
