10,5 mm lens, SB 800 speedlight, aimed at a nearby tree, ISO 1000, some sharpening and cropping in I photo software

So I've had a flickr account for 8 years now. After the first four years, I gained my first million hits. Four years later (today) I've reached 10 million. Of that 10 million, 1.9 million has been from just the past week (since Friday).

None of this really translates into anything other then empty internet points, but I'm feeling pretty good anyway. :)

This week's restoration project from the days of film:

Two A-10 Thunderbolts flying in wingman formation awaiting aerial refueling. This is the plane my husband flew in the Air Force. I took this picture through the window of a KC-135 inflight over Alaska. We were stationed at Eielson Air Force Base outside of Fairbanks at the time. A group of us wives were allowed to watch our husbands on one of their refueling missions. It was quite an adventure and a once in a lifetime opportunity. Someday, if I ever find the negative, I think can improve the quality even more.

Long exposure at Bough Beech sailing club/reservoir.

I took this on Sat along with a few more but thought that i'd save it for Monday so I could whack a Father's Day themed shot up.

A 30s exposure at f/22. I tried longer exposures to white out the water but it just didn't work, thought i'd stick with a correct exposure!

I like the way the water appears so smooth on the right side of the Jetty, it was pretty windy and so quite wavy.

The metal gridded part of the walkway was also half submerged and thats come out pretty cool to!

Flashgun sold last night, for almost 3x the amount I bought it for which is awesome! Off to post that today and try out an idea I have for tomorrows photo, hopefully it will work!

I downloaded a trial of silver efex pro and used it for this shot, its really confusing to begin with but I think i worked out what they all do, long way still to go though!

A lot of my shots from this day had dots on, i've tagged them, does anybody know if this is something on the sensor? The lens appears clean...

Hit 'L'

I was wondering why the people were holding up their coins and shooting it together with the temple. Then it hit me the moment I checked the 10 yen coin. Didn't realize this temple was located in Kyoto... such a wonderful surprise.

My next stop is to shoot the Saiko Lake which appears at the back of a 1000 yen bill. Once the weather cools down a bit I'll try to visit Kawaguchiko again.

I was truly inspired by Dale Chihuly's immense creativity as a glass artist. I will let these works speak for themselves as they captured the moment at this Chihuly exhibit. Taken with a hand-held smartphone with no flash and processed in LightRoom using digital equivalents of analog film processing.

Here is a strange composition of the remains of the days of flooding at Ramey. I passed by the Ramey farm house and stone back house and got interested by the sheds north across another fissure. This view is upstream, sort of, on the way. The sheds were already rebuilt before the floods and now they are on their last legs and probably got their ten count. The sheds but I guess the works is toast now. I have no idea why the county decided to prop the old buildings up but maybe Nebraska said they would sue if more of these things floated down the Platte. We ought to sue Nebraska if they send more folks up river for a marijuana hit. Come in to the state, cop your hit and for god's sake, leave. I think back to the working days of the farm and wonder how busy and productive the Ramey place might have been?

I have already posted several shots of Ramey and how the pasture on the north side got ripped up by newly cut streams through the place. One fissure shows in the bottom. In fact walking across the pasture and through the structures involves tracking around all the fissures all over the place. I have a Ramey photoset under farms. A lot of the shots are at better times. I guess this is another loss to water diversions and gravel mining. The 61st street road has been rebuilt down to the 63rd Street bridge past the gate at Broley and I can now drive in. I walked the river road out behind Broley and noticed the Ramey fences were gone to Nebraska and I could access what used to be Ramey. I parked at the Broley gate and walked down to Ramey. Apparently, the water streamed up to 4 feet high over Ramey. The pond south of Broley overflowed everywhere including Ramey after the floods cut through the gravel pits around Broley and sliced through 61st Street and rejoined the original St.Vrain.

There are piles of detritus laying about in what was left of the pastures. Some folks are convinced the river ought to be moved back to some of its original, some places empty, course. Darwin should chime in on that idea; he allowed forebears to make a mess of it in the first place. Still, the word is that they plan to start the effort. The farmers are screaming about rebuilding ditches before spring. Have at it guys. The bridge, roads and private holdings are still going to require some serious work.

Bright red Olympus AF-10 bought on eBay for around 9 GBP. I have never seen another one before or after. Battery leak but working OK after cleaning. I have another black AF-10 Super which may be more usable due to flash off option. Great, sharp little lens.

UPDATE: I contacted the seller looking for more info regarding the original purchase, and they told me that the camera was bought from a pharmacy in Bairnsdale, a small town in East Gippsland in eastern Victoria (Australia) some 15 years ago. Apparently red was the only (!) color stocked by the store at the time.

When Barry scrapyard was finally cleared in 1990 the last 10 locos in terrible condition were stored firstly in Cardiff and then later in Barry depot.

Now they are gradually being sold off for various restoration projects mainly for parts. They have been moved out of the shed and make an errie sight.

Anybody got a few quid for restoration ?

Can't believe Maryann is heading out in public for the First time!
