Instead of working on my impending talk for a conference this weekend, or finishing my three fellowship applications (which would bring me $75,000) I plan to dedicate my time to photography. Over the last six months, I have been out shooting above and below water A LOT. But, never had the time to look at the images on my computer. So here I am.
This shot is from a fourth of July excursion to Point Lobos, and is dedicated to Jimmie and his love of anemones. Captured on the great pinnacle out of Blue Fish cove with a ripping current. Imagine trying to shoot a critter that is ~2cm big (tiny), while being shoved up/down/left and right by the current.
I did a tight crop of the original image to highlight the intricate details of the cup corals' appendages. I also applied the silver efex pro bw conversion to highlight the contrast in the anemone.

Succede che a settembre si tagliano i capelli. Un po' come le foglie. Così sia allora. L'estate è uno squarcio di anno in un anno. L'estate gira tutto più velocemente. Ti raccolgo il collage di quest'estate e visto che il corriere ha pubblicato oggi un articolo sulle persone che fanno le "liste" (pfui ti ricorda qualcuno ?????) eccoti piccolo promemoria del mio rientro:

Ps: Peggy guggenheim, La lorenzo dei medici del 21 secolo. Mecenate di tipini come Pollock & co. sepolta a Venezia assieme ai suoi 14 cani! piccola taglia shitsu credo. Morti ogni due anni circa, si aprono ipotesi alla Csi sulla loro fine (la più probabile per me: averli pestati dopo il terzo martini dry).
Tu mi regali lo splendido bracciale di perle con al centro la foto del pechinese che con questi capelli sembra proprio il mio ritratto. Ecco, vado tronfia in giro con il mio bracciale Peggy!!!!

developed normally gives nice warm colors

Extra Long roll of 41 exposures, great for Lomokino or SLR
This great film has a wide exposure latitude and can be shot at any ISO between 25-200 and developed normally giving acceptable results.
Dev times similar to Ilford Pan-F

This is Kodak 400 High Definition film turned over to give the amazing redscale effect. See the examples. Shoot at ISO 100 or lower.
2 rolls - Scotch Chrome 100
E-6 Color Slide Film / expired 1997 / ISO 100 / 22exp.
Only produced for a few short years this rare film gives great results!
When processed normally it gives a pleasant blue/cyan tint to the shadows.
Cross-processing gives a slightly warmer hue but still looks great.
2 rolls - Eastman Double-X 5222
Black & White Motion Picture Film/ ISO 250 / 20exp.
A rare emulsion that gives a wonderful cinematic
image at an optimum speed. (DX Coded at ISO 200)
3 rolls -FujiColor IT-N 6
C-41 / Ultra Fine Grain Color Film/ ISO 6 / 20exp.
Originally a Laboratory Internegative Film, this gives
high saturation and is great for long exposures, pinhole cameras or using a wide-open F-Stop. Yes, you read correctly ISO SIX!!

We have seen excellent results in several different developers

Fine-Grain film expired in 2000 gives lovely results.
Day Thirty-one, it's a Portrait Day. This one was taken in my in-laws' new kitchen. They just renewed and moved in the flat where Claudia and I lived for two years when we came back from the Netherlands.
