The Rhône enters the Geneva lake in the region of Bouveret and comes out of the lake in Geneva about 11 years later, for the most deep water bodies.

While autumnal golds are just developing here, I jumped into my last year's archives just to find this golden image :-)
The texture and tilt-shift magic were a must...

A day to rejoice in the splendor of all living things. Each and every one of them is a gift that cannot be replaced.
May your day be blessed. Merry Christmas everyone.

Color Efex's Black and white Solarizarion + light toning
The original image was taken in the afternoon. The buildings in the background were blurry (on purpose, I was aware that the train was moving), and the background was dark red with greenish areas. Rails were brown and fuzzy.
My first attempt was to turn it to black and white. Rails were nicer but building were quite white and blurry.
I accidentally applied Solarization to the color image and the result was quite nice. It looks very dramatic, like Film Noir. Solarization provides a much nicer mysterious background and floods rails and seat with light.

One of those shots where if I managed to take two steps to the left the composition would have been perfect, unfortunately I was standing right of the edge of the loch as it was. I think it looks good in black and white to emphasise the mist and contrast with the trees in the distance.
