Long expo shot of the IJssel near Olst at twilight.
The rowboat is docked close to a car ferry. Maybe it's an emergency backup, although i doubt they will take cars across the river with it. :)

In the past my stream was a place full of colors; that might change a bit this year. I will make a start with a motive which is likely to be well known "in color" :-))
☄ Michel Pagliaro at the 2019 Quebec National Day (St-Jean-Baptiste). Pag, as he is called here is the most famous rock musician of Quebec, a real legend. He’s been on the scene for many, many years and believe me, he stills rock the crowd hard ... with the help of excellent musicians of course. So I allowed myself a small photo montage by mixing a portrait of the artist with the Fireworks.

The light of a fervent soul.
The darkness feeding an endless chasm.
Consuming and sweeping the landscape.
Nourishing the soul with a warm hope.
Hope for an endless tomorrow. The essential timeless conflict. Let it happen.
Without it, what are we?

A quiet morning on the banks of the Potomac made finding this little gem of a spot totally worth it. A rising sun tucked itself behind some early morning clouds just long enough for me to snag this beauty.
Sitting on this small beach, it was easy to forget the hustle and bustle of the DC metro area; no sounds of traffic, no airplanes or helicopters skipping over head, just the sound of the river and the breeze - pure serenity.
Check out my website and blog and don't forget to follow me on Flickr, Instagram, and 500px!
I needed some time to myself, so I took the day off today and headed to the beach before sunrise. What a way to start the day.

After weeks with temperatures around 30C I am a little bit fed up just taking shots of hot fields with blue skies. After a cold and long Winter we all longed for Spring and Summer. And our prayers were heard. Instantly and with immediate effect. If you also suffer from the heat take a look at a cold Winter evening around the banks of River Werre in Bad Oeynhausen, Ostwestfalen, Germany

Zanskar is the most isolated valley in India and Phuktal is the remotest part of Zanskar. The Phuktal monastery is the epitome of monks living high up in the mountains, detached from the rest of the world. By the time we reached the Phuktal monastery the monks had gathered for lunch. This was the view at the meal times. It won't cost you a dime. Just a lifetime of being a monk!

Cirrus clouds with contrails at sunset
For our weather serie
Cirrus is an atmospheric cloud generally characterized by thin, wispy strands, giving the type its name from the Latin word cirrus meaning a ringlet or curling lock of hair.
It forms when water vapor undergoes deposition at altitudes above 5,000 m (16,500 ft) in temperate regions and above 6,100 m (20,000 ft) in tropical regions.
Cirrus cloud ranges in thickness from 100 m (330 ft) to 8,000 m (26,000 ft)
Contrails are a manmade type of cirrus cloud formed when water vapor from the exhaust of a jet engine condenses on particles, which come from either the surrounding air or the exhaust itself, and freezes, leaving behind a visible trail. The exhaust can also trigger the formation of cirrus by providing ice nuclei when there is an insufficient naturally-occurring supply in the atmosphere.

Temple Concord's roots reach back over one hundred years to the first Jewish organization in this area. The original Jewish settlers in Binghamton organized the Hebrew Benevolent Society, founded in 1862. Subsequently, they created a number of Jewish organizations and religious societies. Temple Concord was incorporated in November, 1950, and in February 1951 regular services were instituted in the Kilmer Mansion. The historic mansion now houses our Hebrew and Judaic schools as well as a library.
This charming cypress grove in the midst of grain fields is situated just outside of San Quirico on the road to Montalcino. Another photographic and accordingly frequented icon of Val d'Orcia.
