HMM!

Although I bracketed five shots, in this instance I preferred the result of processing just a single shot with local adjustments over the HDR version.

Port Dalhousie Harbour is the former entrance point to the first, second and third Welland Canals. Day-docking is made available in this section of the harbour by the City of St. Catharines. The Dalhousie Yacht Club marina can be seen further ahead filled with boats from ports all over the great lakes. Take a rest on one of the benches and watch the activity, or watch the ducks and geese that make the harbour their home

...this cottage still looks beautiful. Until a couple of years ago, this was the home of our biology teacher and his wife. They lived here for about 5 decades. The maturity and extent of the planting reflects the care that they took.

REPOST

Flickr why aren't you letting me show my pictures in the right way? It refers to the problem I have now and then (previous post for example and most surely even this one) on some of my pictures which are not showing to my contacts and followers. I'm annoyed about this primarily not because of the low numbers but because there is a MALFUNCTIONING

Old Swedish cottage painted in the typical distinct red colour known as Falu red (Falu rödfärg) - a very popular paint from the 17th century onwards, at first on mansions built in wood that were painted to imitate brickwork(!) but later on on all kinds of houses and cottages. The paint originated as a byproduct of the copper mines in Falun (hence the name).

I went to the Hermitage to photograph the nearby waterfall but loved all the patterns the swirls of water were making at this section of the river. The sun light just catching a few of the trees without lighting up the rest was an added bonus.
