After the quick session in the pub it was back home again, pleased I had managed to get out.
Having been asked by Roanyer to plug a sale they have coming up I was mindful that my previous outfit had not shown the breast plate off to its best. A rummage through Judy's wardrobe (an overspill for KT's stuff) I found this red dress. It's by Mary Portas and must be nearly 15 years old. I remember I paid full price for it back then and it was by far the most expensive item of clothing I had ever bought.
Back then I was a couple of stone heavier than I am now so it is an 18, not my current 16.
It was surprisingly easy to get into even with the ample bosom.
Another bi-product of ill health is weight loss, I would be happy for this symptom to continue as my dieting has failed over recent years; so far not massive weight loss but certainly noticeable with todays outfits without any shape wear.
The scarf/flag: Well, I had told my wife that Roanyer wanted me to post a plug for the them and I had told her I doubted I would be able. As a positive gesture she offered to buy me a neck scarf as an option to hide the neck line of the breast plate. She chose the blue neck scarf worn with the previous outfit but I saw this striking scarf/flag that at £7.99 I could not resist.

Part of my Senior Project. This was shot at my fiance's house down in Georgia. He has a good amount of land for the horses to roam around. I definitely want to try doing a shoot with the horses(if they let me! They like to run off!). The fairy is my friend Grace & it was shot here in New Hampshire in the studio.
I'm going to start posting Before & After photos on my Facebook page. So if you'd like to see them, LIKE! :)

PERSONAL FUN FACT: To be honest, I didn't even know that this Katniss doll existed until I stumbled upon her secondhand. I was aware of the Catching Fire doll who came out shortly after the original. And obviously I bought the original in late 2012 at the store, so I knew of her. I guess that these Mockingjay Part 2 dolls were not stocked at my local stores, or they didn't stand out to me. I was delighted in 2020 when I found my Catching Fire Katniss and this lady, together at the local Salvation Army. They were the only two dolls in the toy section just about--other than a few discarded clones and a Babysitter Courtney. At $2 each the Katniss dolls were a steal. They were both decked out in their entire ensembles, complete with shoes. This Katniss had her hair pulled out of the braid. I wasn't sure upon first inspection if this was her actual hairstyle, or if the waves were a result of a braid being removed. Obviously I confirmed the latter and rebraided Katniss's hair. Her outfit and stern face make this doll a force to be reckoned with. I just love everything about her design, although I will say that my first Katniss still has the prettiest face. I can't decide if this doll looks like a villain or a really awesome superhero (I know Katniss is not evil in the books). This doll was such a gem and a surprise to find. Although I had wanted Catching Fire Katniss since she'd first hit store shelves, I have to admit that I prefer this stunning lady!
Part of the PDX Bridges 2021 project. Shot on 120 and 35mm film.
The Hawthorne Bridge is a truss bridge with a vertical lift that spans the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, joining Hawthorne Boulevard and Madison Street. It is the oldest vertical-lift bridge in operation in the United States and the oldest highway bridge in Portland. It is also the busiest bicycle and transit bridge in Oregon, with over 8,000 cyclists and 800 TriMet buses (carrying about 17,400 riders) daily. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in November 2012.
The bridge consists of five fixed spans and one 244-foot-long (74 m) vertical-lift span. It is 1,382 feet (421 m) in total length. The bridge was originally 63 feet (19 m) wide, including two five-foot sidewalks, but the sidewalks were widened to 10 feet in 1998, increasing the structure's overall width to 73 feet (22 m). The 880,000-pound (400,000 kg) counterweights are suspended from the two 165-foot-tall (50 m) towers. It is operated by a pair of 150-horsepower motors. On average, the lift span is raised for river traffic 120 times per month. While the river is at low level, the bridge is 49 feet (15 m) above the water, causing it to be raised an average of 200 times per month. As of 2001, the average daily traffic was 30,500 vehicles. The bridge was designed by Waddell & Harrington, which also designed the Steel and Interstate bridges.
The current bridge was built to replace the second Madison Street Bridge, a wooden bridge built in 1900. The streetcar tracks across the bridge were originally in the outer lanes, but were relocated to the center lanes in 1931. The deck was changed from wood to steel grating in 1945. The original color of the bridge was black, lasting until 1964, when it was repainted yellow ochre. During the 1998–99 renovation, the color was changed to green with red trim.
The 2003 film, The Hunted, included a scene set on MAX on the Hawthorne Bridge. Since MAX does not cross the bridge, the movie company connected two articulated buses remodeled to resemble a MAX train, complete with fake overhead lines and a sprinkler system to simulate rain. Light-rail (interurban) service did cross the Hawthorne Bridge until 1956.
In August 2012, an automated bicycle counter was installed on the bridge, the first such counter to be installed in a U.S. city. It was purchased by the non-profit group Cycle Oregon and donated to the city. The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in November 2012.

Inside the long horse trailer. The trailer is overstuffed with old broken furniture, rotting wooden walls, and miscellaneous discards. But there is a beautiful glow at the end of the trailer, courtesy of the broken yellowing piece of plastic.

In just a few footsteps, I begin to explore her home. There is a ladder that leads up to a sleeping area. “Is that where you sleep?” I ask. “No, this is where I sleep- that’s for the couchsurfers”. She shows me a tucked in corner that used to once be a double closet. “I emptied this out and built a bed”. There is no baby cradle- Alison and Nico share the same bed “I’m a Granola mother”. On one wall, there is a shelf with endless diapers lined up. She admits that diapers are the number one thing she uses, “I go through at least ten a day”. Well, I just learned something new about mothering. Underneath “diaper central” are clothes pinned on a wall. It is just a handful of clothes that belong to the mother and baby. Near the door, there is one pair of shoes- the only pair she owns. Alison explains that she’s lived a life of nomad minimalism- and if she were to get up and leave now, she could fit everything into one backpack. I have a difficult time believing this, but realize that indeed there is no closet with more clothes in her studio (well, what once was a large closet is now a bed!). “I don’t need much, and quite frankly neither does Nico”.

“Pancreatic cancer is among the most aggressive of all cancers, and very difficult to treat. Statistics have not changed in the last 40 years. I suppose it’s like this for most people going through something so personal - they want to help others, and I felt the same. Especially after going through counselling and the meetings at Macmillan’s. I helped organise a street food festival, using my Market Wraps business to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Centre and Pancreatic Cancer UK. It was about a year since I had found out I had cancer. The day was an important milestone, not just to give something back, but to also celebrate that I was still there. A few days before the event, I went to the hospital to hand out some flyers. It brought back memories of being there the previous year. How I felt, waiting anxiously for those results. There was something that felt very safe about that place. I sat in the waiting room, strangely calm. It felt a part of me, and I broke down.
As I prepare myself for another round of chemotherapy, I find myself asking the same questions: Who was I before cancer? Who am I now? And what have I learnt? Life seems very surreal at the moment. I try and live life likes it’s a film, I try and make it a great film. I put a power balled in the background - I control that inner voice. I don’t let the inner voice control me and I try not to worry. My treatment and my body stop me doing what I want to do, which is frustrating. In the past, it was not my health that stopped me doing what I wanted to do, it was myself. If someone found a miracle cure for cancer, I would say that I would never live like that again, and I would even go as far to say, that if I was cured then cancer would have been the greatest gift on understanding the true value of life.”

Wednesday was back to great weather...got up early and took the #1 Grand Canal waterbus again.
Had 'skip the line' tickets for Doge's Palace and the Basilica di San Marco.
Despite the ordinary appearance of the Doge's Palace exterior, it's extremely opulent inside, showing off the wealth that Venice enjoyed at the time.
Due to a delay in the tour start, I had to skip the Basilica tour, so no pix.
Two cruise ships were in port, so while busy, it wasn't extraordinarily crowded but I'm glad we weren't there in the high season. I can image the waterbus waits get enormous. There were significant lines for the Basilica and Doge's Palace but they've got to be worse in the warmer months.
