“亞洲水鳥藍空獨航 Asian Waterbird in Flight” / 自然 Nature / SML.20130509.7D.41593.P1.L1

Some captures are prime candidates for black and white—and this is one of those instances, and it will probably eventually also processed as such.

 

But there is something interesting about that little bit of color—the very fainted yellow from the sun contrast with the blue gray clouds.

 

The bird is technically both over and under exposed, and there is nothing I could do about it. Following things flying in air is a lot harder than I first imagined. Hopefully I can get better at this—maybe use spot metering next time. But again, when it is in black and white, the hard white / black is much less distracting. There is something magical about B+W that can often turn fail into win!
