I've had a bit of time to go through the archives this past day or two and I've rediscovered so many fond memories through the years during wanderings with my camera.
These photographs from Iceland aimed to capture the minimal, stark landscapes that left such a lasting impression on me during my first visit in 1999. The snow and ice in the foreground against the cloudy, grey skies attempted to create a unique sense of isolation and tranquility that I'd never experienced before anywhere else in the world. The wonder of geology on planet Earth. Each photo attempts to balance even weight between the land and sky with the horizon line sitting right across the middle. Iceland in February; a true winter wonderland shaped by the forces of nature.
