Windy wether in west Norway

Last step in this three-week journey to the Alps, Zermatt and the Matterhorn. I had been there in an earlier trip three years ago and wanted this time to follow new paths. Here, this perspective of the Matterhorn was captured from Unterrothorn (3104m) which offers a different point of view than the more traditional Gornergrat and its front view of the Matterhorn. A look back after a new snow dump and removal for most of the day, sick of snow, so a visit to the lake in autumn with a final light. Hope you enjoy and happy Sunday!

Have a lovely evening.. thanks for any comments left

Some peaks of the Sundance Range reflected in one of the Vermillion Lakes on a crispy, chilly autumn morning.

Mt. Rundle, the iconic peak to the left that is one of the most photographed mountains in Canada was shrouded in clouds. Glad these peaks were out reflected nicely below.

Thanks All for the gracious comments, faves and support. Always appreciated!

... for a Happy Weekend !

Moor pond / Moorweiher in "Rotes Moor", Rhön

to take photos with my new big stopper

This was shortly before we found the little seal pup.

Blanca is focused on two crows at the water's edge and wants to charge at them ... but she wants me to give her the "go" signal. She has just looked back at me and now is trying to watch the birds and listen towards me simultaneously.

The idea of waiting until she gets a signal is completely her own idea. As far as I'm concerned, she can run after crows and gulls whenever she wants (she'll never catch one), but she insists on getting a signal first.

What she really wants is for me to run with her at the birds and she wants me as the leader to coordinate our run. I don't really like running, but sometimes I get drawn into her happy excitement and will thrill her by imitating a stalking panther. Then I suddenly break into a full run, which is as good as yelling, "CHARGE!"

The instant she sees me running, she takes off and we both launch ourselves at the crows in full gallop (she leaves me far behind at that point ...). Even though I abhor actual hunting, in this moment a shared instinct kicks in and we become strong and wild, acting with one mind and one purpose - and it is DEEPLY exhilarating!

And then I start limping because I pulled a muscle! ;)

It is always a cause for joy to see ships come and go safely into and from the harbor and so it was recently with "Rotterdam" paying a short visit to St.John's, NL, Canada.

Merry Christmas to all my Flickr friends !

Sentinel Rock appeared through the low clouds as the snow storm moved away. A view from Cook's Meadow, Yosemite Valley, soon after the 15-20cm (6-8 inches) snow. Taken in the first week of December 2018.

No wonder Ireland is so green with all the rain it gets!!

Oberg Mountain is a 3 mile moderate hike. High overlooks along Oberg give wonderful views of Lake Superior, Oberg Lake and Moose Mountain.

I was disappointed when I saw that most of the trees were beyond peak colors. It was still a fun hike on a nice fall day.

Le lac des Chésery dans le massif des Aiguilles Rouges, pour le reflet de tout le massif il faudra encore attendre un peu....

The Chésery lake in the Aiguilles Rouges Range, for the reflexion of the whole mountain range, we will wait a bit more....
