Whilst travelling around Japan I had the pleasure of staying at IrusuMachiya, a traditional machiya run by a good friend in Kyōto. An AirBnB apartment conveniently located in Higashiyama Shichijo, a quiet neighbourhood just moments away from several historic sites and cultural landmarks.

 

IrusuMachiya offers a choice of two self-contained floors with traditionally themed rooms offering guests everything they need to make the most of their stay in Kyōto.

 

I highly recommend a stay there to fellow friends and travelling samurai looking for a place hang up their sword and take of their armour and relax.
