Twist and Shout 8645

A Forster's tern unleashes a salty brine while shaking its head in flight at Barnegat Light State Park. Terns, like many other marine birds, possess nasal salt glands that allow them to secrete salt. This gives them the ability to consume salt water that would otherwise make us quite ill. Despite this ability, terns would rather drink fresh water when it is available. Forster's terns are agile in flight. This bird maintains an unwavering trajectory despite its contorted appearance. I wonder if they would take their Margaritas with or without salt? #ILoveWildlife #ILoveNature #wildlifePhotography in #NewJersey #Nature in #America #USA #ForstersTern #Terns #Birds #Canon #Bringit #DrDADBooks #Photography #Picoftheday #Photooftheday
