This parent was delivering a big fish for dinner but unfortunately the chicks couldn't swallow it.

I'm not sure if the chase was courtship or territorial, but it sure was fast action and fun to watch!

Two tern families have been living next to each other for some times. This (bad) guy was attacking the other family's chicks while their parent were out hunting for dinner. Both of these two chicks are OK after the attack.

I've been having too much fun...and the amount of fun I'm having is reflected in the amount of pictures I'm taking. Oy!

I was thrilled to have captured this Forster's Tern in flight (bif not being my forte) and I like the fact that a person is included in the frame. It puts the bird in context and shows how they both share the same space. This picture was taken early in the morning in Daytona Beach, Florida, last February.

The feeding terns put on quite a show on this morning just after sunrise on Armand Bayou.

Mated pair of Forster's Terns in breeding plumage on Horsepen Bayou. The bird in front was a non-stop squawker while the one in back never even cracked a smile the whole time I was observing them. Clearly not newlyweds.
