Freestone Point in Leesylvania State Park
The bluff in Freestone Point overlooks the Potomac River in Leesylvania State Park. It was used by the Confederacy to blockade Washington D.C. during the Civil War. The top of the bluff is on Lee's Woods Trail. Freestone Point is named for the free limestone the colonist would get here. The trail is probably named after Judge Lee or Senator Harry (Light Horse) Lee who resided there. This shot was taken from the Freestone Point Pier. #LeesylvaniaStatePark #Virginia #PotomacRiver #FreestonePoint
