Some (but by no means all) residents of villages like Parton and St Bees have complained to Northern about the noise of their "new" trains, here (at St Bees) simultaneous or closely consecutive departures can certainly be heard. On the left, 37218 is seen on the rear of 2C40, Northern's 1631 Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness on 30 June 2015. On the right 37606 waits to restart 2C47, Northern's 1731 Barrow-in-Furness to Carlisle (with 37409 at the rear).

"600 Steps: l'esprit de l'escalier" Tokyo, Japan
Le Temple d'Or (en pendjabi, "Harmandir Sahib", signifiant « l'Illustre Temple de Dieu »).
C'est l'édifice le plus sacré des Sikhs. Il est situé au cœur de la ville d'Amritsar, au Pendjab, dans le nord ouest de l'Inde.
Le nom de « Temple d'Or » est dû à sa couverture dorée à l'or fin. Il date du début du 17ème siècle.

Golden magnificence
The Golden Temple (in Punjabi, "Harmandir Sahib", meaning "the Illustrious House of God").
It is the most sacred building of the Sikhs. It is located in the heart of the city of Amritsar, Punjab, in northwest India.
The name "Golden Temple" is due to its golden cover with fine gold. It dates from the early 17th century.

Nicky and I have been trying to match our diaries for months. She is a girl like me who I met on line and lives locally, so a meeting should be easy.
Today it finally happened. It was a glorious sunny day to stroll gently around the Botanic Gardens and talk. Nicky took this pic of me in the alpine plants section. Let's hope the next meeting does not take as long to coordinate.
I said earlier that Nicky is like me and, while that is broadly true, one thing we both remarked on is that no two of us are alike
History of Anakena beach:
This idyllic oasis is more than sand, sea and sun on a remote island, because here are traces of the historical-cultural birth of Easter Island.
It was here where the first king of the Island known as Ariki Hotu Matu'a landed, who, in the company of his subjects, anchored roots to establish the first populated civilization, which gave rise to the Rapanui culture.
The name by which this beach is known has a rather particular origin, because it is inspired by a nearby cave, where Hotu Matu’a apparently established his personal residence.
Anakena Beach was also the epicenter of Chilean aboriginal populations, who conceived of this place as a meeting point between the masters of the Rapa Nui Rongo Rongo language.
