8:02 AM, on a Monday: Antwerp-Central railway station platform 6. Just one passenger.
The vast (185 metres long, 66 metres wide and 44 metres high) curved roof iron and glass trainshed is designed by Clement van Bogaert and constructed between 1895 and 1899. The station is widely regarded as the finest example of railway architecture in Belgium. It is often referred to as a "Railway Cathedral".

Qualcosa c'è
che ti fa paura
e rende incerto il tuo volo.
Sarà l'idea
che il tempo si consuma
e l'improvviso sei solo,
come un attore hai scelto il ruolo
di chi è sicuro di se,
ma sai benissimo che la tua arte
è nella parte fragile di te.
Cerca angoli di cielo
fantastiche visioni,
Prendi tutti i suoni
dal frastuono di ogni giorno
cerca tra la gente le parole
segui la tua vita
non lasciarla andare
ora è il momento
Perchè non c'è
nessuna differenza
se vinci o se perdi,
quello che conta
che ha più importanza
essere quello che sei.
Cerca angoli di cielo
fantastiche visioni,
per dare nuova luce ai tuoi occhi;
Prendi tutti i suoni
dal frastuono di ogni giorno
cerca tra la gente le parole
ama la tua vita
non lasciarla andare
ora è il momento
Prendi tutti i suoni

As much as I love shooting with my Pentax K10D it isn't practical to carry to/from work everyday given that its a full-sized semi-pro dSLR camera. So bought a tiny Canon IXY 910IS digital camera as my cameraphone, while handy, doesn't quite cut it as a serious camera for shots around Tokyo.
Non-HDR 1xp shot taken from the 36th floor of the ANA hotel, shortly after drinks with some co-workers, looking towards the Tokyo Midtown development on the right and Roppongi Hills on the left (where my earlier shot of the Tokyo Nightscape was taken).

The internationally famous island of Sipadan lies five degrees north of the equator in the Sulawesi Sea. Lying 35km south of Semporna, on Sabah's mainland, like many tropical island it is thickly forested and surrounded by sandy beaches. Sipadan is an oceanic island and was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct undersea volcano, which rises 600m from the seabed.

This is how the south east crater appeared on the 16th november 2006. Due to the strong explosions the eastern flank of the crater collapsed letting the lava flows go toward the Bove Valley. On its route to the valley the lava flows created some rapids.

The Hook is where I love to go take pictures.
I just liked all the Blue in this shot. The sea, ship and sky...

My Website:

Ever have a morning when you shoot more good shots in ten minutes than you have shot in the past year?
This morning contained that ten minutes.
Ten minutes that I had before beginning the school bus run.
What a morning! The light mist made everything wonderful to my eye.

The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, also known as the Holocaust Memorial, is a memorial in Berlin to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
It consists of a 19,000 square meter (4.7 acre) site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs or "stelae", arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field.

My close friends in Bali took me to their village in Karengasem. Their neighbors just had a cremation and the day I came was the ngeroras ceremony. The celebration was replete with long processions and dramatic offerings, and performances involving the topeng (mask), the wayang (shadow puppet) and the rejang dewa. The latter is a dance by pre-pubescent girls in these lavishly tall homemade coconut leaf headresses called gelung rejang. Stretching from morning to midnight, the ceremony is a showcase of cultural purity. The village actually welcomed me fully and did not mind that there was one Filipino, albeit in Balinese attire, taking pictures as if there was no tomorrow.

Drats! How did I miss this??? Unforgivable!!! The bad thing is that it's not a common species around here, it's only the second time I spotted one in 4 years (here is the other one) and I managed to make a mess of all my captures that day...

Dranesville Tavern was built in 1823. In 1865, the Alexandria Gazette described Dranesville Tavern as "one of the finest roadside inns in the State of Virginia." That tradition of excellence and hospitality continues today at this beautifully restored National Historic Landmark.
