I am taking a Zutter class on the web and this is the first project : an accordeon album. I made it to hold homemade cards and envelopes. I'm thinking that it would be a good idea for a gift. The patterned papers are from K &Co. (a coordinated pack that I bought). I did not have the leather closure as was suggested in the calss, so I used a ribbon. The word "cards"; is stamped was Hero Arts alphabet stamps. I also stamped a background of flowers (from Hero Arts) under the word cards. The shape is cut with a new Sizzix die and the navy blue is a Nestability die. The flower is a Stampin'Up Sizzix die. All the solid colour cardstocks are Stampin'Up.

The top and bottom borders were punched with Martha Stewart punches.

Spring time makes me think of Spring Cleaning! With sports and Girl Scouts starting up in Spring we get pretty busy and our housework and chores start to suffer. I created a “daily duties” to help keep my daughter on track with her chores and daily hygiene needs and to help keep the hubby and I on track for the house cleaning that needs to be done each week.

I painted and then decorated on 8x10 Clipboard Wood Cover. I chose to use Clipboard Wood instead of chipboard because I wanted the chart to be really durable since it was going to be handled every day.

I created some “Daily Duties” sheets on the computer, printed them, and bound them to one side of the chore chart. I attached a coordinating ribbon to the top for hanging using the Crop A Dile to punch through the clipboard wood. I created a loop of ribbon on the side to hold a pen for checking off the duties. When the week is done, the sheet is torn off to reveal a new sheet for a new week. To make the pen holder, fold over a loop of ribbon and secure to the back of the Clipboard Wood. Adhere a small scrap of paper over top of the ribbon to hold it securely.

This modelrailway made by Sam de Zutter in 10mm or 1:32 Gauge is all about scrap. The switch from the double track mainline leads trains into a dirty industrial world full of scrap-iron. Not one single mm of this fantastic detailed layout is without weathering or dirt, the old world!

Dad’s Memo Board

My husband works in an office and he has surrounded himself with photos of our children, stuck to the wall with tape and thumbtacks. He really needs a nicer place to keep our kids! I created a "manly" memo board for him to hang at his desk with a photo of the kids. He can also put photos or notes on the post it note pad or little corkboard section of the memo center. I also added some scrap o-wires across the bottom for him to hang keys and lanyards for his ID badges. After binding several books I am usually left with odd piece of o-wires so this project is a perfect use for all those “scraps”. I used a nice sturdy piece of Zutter’s Clipboard Wood Covers to mount the project on—it will hold up to all the man-handling it will get hanging on my husband’s wall at work.

Supplies:

O-Wires, Clipboard Wood – Zutter

Paper – Close to My Heart

Cardstock – Bazzill

Cork – Unknown

Sticky Notes – Kirkland/Costco

Stick Pins – Staples

Waxy Twine – hydrangeahippo.etsy.com

Ink – Colorbox Chalk

Photo – Gypsy Isle Photography

Assembly:

1.Cut paper to the size of the clipboard wood and cover both sides. Ink all edges. Cut a piece of black to 1” smaller than the clipboard wood on all sides and adhere to the board.

2.Using the Bind It All, punch binding holes across the bottom of the board.

3.Adhere the cork board and sticky notepad to the cardstock.

4.Add a 3” square photo above the notepad.

5.Insert o-wires into the holes on the bottom of the board. Bend them closed slightly by hand.

6.Punch two holes in each of the upper corners of the board using the Bind It All. Use the holes printed on the top of the machine as a guide to only slide the board far enough in so that the machine will only cut two holes.

7.Tie waxy twine through each of the holes on the top of the board to form a hanger.

For ages I looked for a sketch book like this - now I have given up, treated myself to a binder and made one myself. It is small - around 6"x4" - and filled with different types of paper - cartridge paper in cream and white, watercolour paper, handmade paper in different weights... Not a sketchbook to start at the beginning with but one to flick through to find the right page for that moment. And it just doesn't seem as scary as all those clean white pages usually do... now I have no excuse not to get drawing!

This book is also featured as a project on the Zutter Zisters' November 2008 Gallery.

With the days finally cooling off I was excited to create this frosty little album in honor of winter! I layered alternating pages of

acetate and chipboard to create a fun take on the ever popular stacked albums. This technique filled mini album features

stamping on acetate, lace cardstock, stickles and other fun details. I dry-brushed the edges of the acetate pages with blue paint

to make them “frosty”. I split a journaling spot between two chipboard pages with an acetate page in between—just a fun way to

make one journal spot stretch to two pages.

I also included a special technique I like to use to create pockets in chipboard books. Cut a piece of chipboard to 6” x 7”. Cut a

strip of chipboard to 3” x 7” to form the pocket front. From chipboard scraps, cut strips of chipboard about ¼” wide or smaller.

Adhere the strips to the 3” x 7” piece of chipboard to form a “U” – along the bottom and the two sides but not along the top.

Insert the pocket front into the Bind-It-All and punch holes on the 3” side as if it were simply a 3” wide page. I like to use the “C”

setting to ensure all of my inner pages match up perfectly with one another. Punch binding holes in the 6” x 7” page as well.

Adhere the pocket front to the page, lining up the binding holes. The pocket sits far enough away from the page to allow easy

insertion of thicker items or several different items but is still slim enough that the book lays flat when closed.

Everyone is always asking me to see photos of my family and I never have anything nice in my purse to show them. This last summer we got professional photos taken and these are photos I am proud to show! I created this mini brag book for my purse to showcase these photos. Now I can say “Yes” when people want to see photos of the family.

To keep it simple I cut 4x5 pages for the inside of the book from this chipboard. I didn’t want the book to be too heavy but it needed to be sturdy to hang out in my purse. I completely covered some pages with photos. On other pages I added cardstock and patterned paper to create a simple design. In the middle of the book between photos of my kids I added a mini page to talk about my kids. I love to change up the pages in the middle of a book for a fun surprise.

I sandwiched ribbon between a piece of paper and a piece of chipboard on each cover to make a tie for the book. I punched and bound the book with the Bind It All. Since this project is 4”x5” it was really easy to punch the holes quickly. Set the machine to the “C” setting and then slide your page against the tab on the guide. Then punch away! I added a few embellies and journaling strips after binding the book. This project can be complete in less than 45 minutes, perfect for a gift for your honey! And don’t forget Mother’s Day will be here before you know it as well.
