June 21, 2018 - A large opening was cut into the second floor to create a light filled welcome zone with a grand stairway which leads to the second floor.
Dedication and Grand Opening Celebration of the Hilliard Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library. This branch is the largest of all CML branches and it also holds the distinction of having the highest circulation all the libraries in the CML system including the Main Library in downtown Columbus.
The building was originally built as the Hickory Chase senior center but was never completed due to the downturn in the economy in 2009 and sat vacant until the City of Hilliard and the Columbus Metropolitan Library began talks of turning the building into a new 63,000 square foot branch.
Architect: DesignGroup. I worked on the project during Design Development. I was the interior design and did selected the furniture, furnishings and equipment on the previous 20,000 square foot branch which opened in 1996.
