Testing the new zip wire

Scheveningen Pier (The Hague, Netherlands)

OOPS! Never trust a cheap zip! I posted this one specially for my Flickr friend from Derby, John Bennett, who asked for a sexy picture!

Finally got one of my personal ‘Holy Grail’ outfits ever since I started collecting Francie; - The Sears exclusive ‘Orange Zip’ from 1968. It was the only Sears exclusive Francie outfit offered that year, but what an outfit! The combination of zingy orange vinyl, (the cut of that zip-front coat is so amazing, with all those intricate topstitched details!) and that funky striped knit top is far-out … I always thought that it needed a belt, so I added the blue belt from the later 1971 Francie outfit ‘Zig-Zag Zoom’ for the perfect finishing touch. REALLY happy with how it all looks, especially on my brunette no-bangs Francie, whom I always wanted to dress in this. Even though she is from a few years later than when this outfit was released, her bouffant-ish flip pulled back by her orange headband looks so late 60s to me!

Hmm...maybe I'll check eBay.

NS 088 zips past an old country church in a lifting fog with its engines roaring and horn blaring shattering the tranquil silence in the mornings first rays of light as it puts on its show with the classy offerings of F units while the sleepy residents have yet to assemble at the table under the roadside shack for a game of dominoes or the like in this scene at Cuba, AL.

I had a fantastic idea that never came to fruition (maybe next time!). Instead, I noticed the edge of the zip on my jacket and thought it was an interesting texture.

A cute coat with a furry lined hood that zips up under the nose.

The Inset Zip pouch pattern from Michelle Patterns. I used a grey Moda Crossweave for the main fabric, and small strips of Liberty of London Tana Lawn for the inset portion. The lace trim is from Joann's. I also added a strap to make it a wristlet. I love how it turned out so much!

I got to watch 3 humming birds zipping around in the jewel weed late this afternoon. They were rather far off but it was fun just watching them and trying for a shot.

next station down is the Superman zip line - you're completely horizontal, facing down, soaring towards the ocean, exhilerating!

The human heart has hidden treasures,

In secret kept, in silence sealed;

The thoughts, the hopes, the dreams, the pleasures,

Whose charms were broken if revealed.
