I saw this dragonfly/darter at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. If anyone knows what sort it is I would love to know.
Happy Wing Wednesday!

Have a great day everyone
** Thanks all for the really cool reception of this shot
the comments have been fun to read
A quick explanation of this;
Im using my 300mm lens. Im on-shore. This is the end of a fast section
Im shooting in manual mode and have my settings geared to the action further right in the steeper part of the wave. As the surfer exited the section I would continue to shoot in the same setting, as i looked in the monitor to see the shot it would always look kind of cool, so I never reajusted
I actually have quite a few shots just like this. : )

I actually remembered to check the theme to Macro Mondays before leaving for work. Here’s a macro shot of my wallet for today’s challenge... Have a great start to your week, everyone!
Entrecasteaux is a village about 7km from here. We went there last week for a drive out and the imposing Château caught my attention. While looking for a bit of privacy (we were both 'caught short') we unintentionally ended up on this very quiet road which fortunately gave us a commanding view of the Château and its surrounds so it was out with the camera once I'd zipped up! :-))
The Château was originally built in the 11th century but rebuilt later in the 15th, 16th and 18th centuries. In 1974, after several decades of abandonment, the castle was restored by the British painter Hugh Ian Macgarvie-Munn who turned the Château into a museum. We're aiming to go and visit it properly in March when it reopens.

A trio of CN painted SD40-3 rebuilds (ex SD45T-2 BLE 900 and ex SD40-2s IC6261 and IC 6263) power a heavy a U717 loaded UTAC pellet train of all old DMIR ore hoppers from Fairlane headed south 50 miles to Proctor Yard. The train is accelerating on the tangent approaching Zim Road at MP 55.7 on modern day CN's North Division Missabe Sub mainline.
This is an area that needs no introduction to even the most casual fan as the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway is in a word legendary. I won't bore you with pages of history as I couldn't do the road or region justice anyway. It simply needs to be experienced for oneself. But I will direct you to two resources. Absolutely check out the fabulous historical information here: www.missabe.com/

These guys (A man and his dog) came zipping past me so fast I barely had time to get the camera to the eye to compose or focus. And, unfortunately I suppose, I was shooting in B&W. The dog's sunglasses were a bight pink! So, sorry about the blur and the framing, but it was a grab shot.
Burlington Northern train No. 3, the "Pacific Zip" is making a quick crew change at Thurston Street in Wenatchee, Washington the afternoon of July 1, 1995.
Created in 1972, the "Pacific Zip" TOFC mail train became a legend, spanning the distance between Chicago and Seattle in 50 hours. The tight schedule lengthened over time when TOFC pickups were added in Spokane and South Seattle. The train would survive into the BNSF era, becoming the ZCHCSEH intermodal.
