We walked through Bristol streets today, as we often do on a Sunday. Three times we were shocked to see and hear people driving cars at truly excessive speeds on streets where people walk or cycle, where children spend time and where the next obscured junction or road obstruction is only yards away. I was noting, as we walked, all the aids to "traffic flow" (faster driving) that push hazards and inconvenience onto people walking , onto people cycling and onto people with specific mobility needs.
Then I saw this "zero harm" sign near to Temple Meads Station. Construction site managers seem to take "zero harm" as a practical goal. In the spaces where they are responsible, they take every care to have no damage done to people working or to people passing by. But on the city's streets the Department for Transport and the Local Authority just hope that this year won't be as bad as last year and accept that a constant small fraction of the population will carry on acting irresponsibly so the rest of us must learn to anticipate and maybe avoid the consequences. Vroom vroom…
In Bristol, in the year 2013, twelve people died on the roads. This maintained the "one a month" average that has afflicted the city since 2005.
In the same year (the last one we have accurate data for) there were 94 reports of serious injuries (nearly two a week) and 1,004 of "slight" injuries. "Slight" means treated in A&E but not kept in overnight. It still includes some pretty horrid things that would not feel "slight" at all.
1,004 is 19 a day.
Perhaps the speeding lunatics we saw and heard today serve a useful function by reminding everyone of the danger that befalls anyone who is crossing the wrong road, turning the wrong corner or walking along the wrong pavement at an inconvenient time?
Today I did wonder what would need to happen if we seriously wanted to take "zero harm" on ordinary streets as a serious goal?
In such a small and pleasant city is it acceptable to have 20 people hurt (or worse) every single day of the year on our streets? We already know where they happen and we know pretty much what contributed to each one. Instead of trying to work out whose "fault" they were we might start changing things to make less of them happen in the first place and to reduce the severity of the injuries that they cause.

ZËRO
Le premier album « Joke box » est né des cendres de Bästard et Narcophony, deux anciens groupes dont faisaient partie ¾ des membres de Zëro. Le EP vinyle « Bobby Fischer » l'annonçait, « Diesel dead machine », second albu...m du groupe le confirme : Zëro accélère le rythme sans rien perdre de ses capacités à le perturber et à développer des arrangements d'une richesse rare. On sent que le groupe a tourné, l’énergie brute des concerts est ici restituée avec ferveur. Le son Zëro s’affirme.
Pas besoin de haute technologie pour bien faire. Ici, tout est fait comme il l’a toujours été, live et en groupe, entre rigueur et totale décontraction, le son étant leur seul motif de perfectionnisme et d’obstination. Il suffit de les voir en concert pour le comprendre. C’est sans doute là que le message de Zëro se révèle, approchant avec une totale liberté d’expression ce que le rock représente à leurs yeux: un métissage de cultures et d’influences où le punk des premiers Devo, le jazz d’un Sun Ra et le blues d’un Captain Beefheart ne sont pas étrangers mais complètement assimilés.
Il est clair que la musique de Zëro s’aventure plus dans des contrées inventives que dansles sentiers battus du rock à identité fixe. On y croise autant Jack Berrocal et Gene Vincent en « Drag Queen blues » sous extasy, que le krautrock de Can et Kraftwerk dans un « Luna Park » ludique où psychédelisme et harmoniques offrent un roller coaster cérébral et addictif. On y croisera également des Cramps ressuscités le temps d’un « Sick to the bones » écorché, des Battles en pleine poussée pour un « Viandox » improbable, tout comme un paquet d’autres freaks qui en marge de tout courant auront constamment réécrit avec singularité et intelligence le langage du rock.
Chaque titre s’évade du précédent, fuyant la routine et l’étiquette comme la peste, un sourire au coin des lèvres, une bonne boite à blague sous le bras. Les disques se dévoilent avec la malice d’une boite d’illusionniste, d’un vice sans fin où le plaisir et la surprise sont sans cesse renouvelés.

Wing GUNDAM Zero

This is the HGAC version "revive" kit of GUNDAM WING ZERO which was released on 2013. Having said that, it was around 1990-2000's that this Gundam was actually first turned into a kit.
The difference between the two released kits are significant as Bandai has virtually eliminated the need to paint with improved colored parts separation -- very favorable for beginner builders. Articulation and pose-ability is absolutely better with improved joint parts. And of course, the memories of the old series is far more easily remembered thanks to improved shape and proportion that really matches the one that you got to see on TV back then.
