Young fawn grazing. It was quite a ways back in the woods. Took some different angles to get this shot. Hate the distractions to the right of the pic but I had to get though a lot of brush to get this.
This young man & his older sister started their own fish taco & turtle soup stand to support 6 of
their siblings, after their Mom & Dad were killed in a tragic auto accident! They made the best fish tacos & cahuama(turtle soup) in the whole beach area--6 miles of coastline & full of restaurants!

This boy was part of a group doing a Warrior dance. Torres Straight Islander dance group in the mall.
The light transmitted through the scape reveals the enclosed flower quite clearly. Presumably the scape protects the flower as it emerges from the bulb buried in the soil. It also bears photosynthetic tissue, and so will be a source of sugars.
I was quite surprised to find that the enclosed anthers on this young shoot were mature and released pollen when I peeled off the scape and tepals.
One of the girls was attentively looking around all the time, like someone who is just "learning to see".
The other one hardly ever looked up from her camera, propably getting to know all its functions in depth.
I wonder who had the better pictures at the end of the day.

I was surprised to see a pair of these young birds during my June visit to the levee in Marietta Ohio. Once again I was at a loss to come up with a positive ID but the bird book I have seemed to match them as possibly being Immature Mergansers.

As ever the "OTMP" Saturday Morning Coffee Concert was hugely enjoyed by the St Magnus Festival audience.

At the British Wildlife Centre, Newchapel, Surrey, 'Flo' and 'Frodo' had four cubs in 2010. This young fox will be the last to depart, for the Isle of Wight Zoo.
Practicing flying in the field late afternoon when most people had left and only a few of us later arriving still around, but it meant we got to fly some birds of prey that weren't yet ready to do flight display in front of a crowds, so we were helping them get used to the public......fabulous time.
