Train de marchandises, 1999/2016
Créée à l'occasion de l'exposition YOKO ONO , Lumière de l'aube en 2016, cette oeuvre est donnée par l'artiste au Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon.
Ce wagon traversé d'impacts de balles s'inspire d'un fait divers dramatique: la mort en 1987 de plusieurs Mexicains qui essayent de traverser la frontière des Etats Unis dans un train de marchandises, mais dont le wagon fermé à clé est abandonné en plein désert. Pour Yoko Ono, cette oeuvre est "un mémorial destiné à toutes les injustices du XXe siècle" et " un manifeste de résistance, de guérison et d'espoir pour le futur".
Cette oeuvre à la fois sculpture et composition musicale projette vers le ciel un faisceau lumineux de plus de 3000m de haut, tous les soirs à la tombée de la nuit.

1 year ago today I posted my first photo to Flickr. I was just reminded that it's been 27 years today since John Lennon was killed. This is the letter that Yoko Ono wrote last year:
"Every year, let's make December 8th the day to ask for forgiveness from those who suffered the insufferable. Let's wish strongly that one day we will be able to say that we healed ourselves, and by healing ourselves, we healed the world."
