Sometimes what we see and appreciate can only happen at a particular “Time of Year” Water gardens and typical land gardens supply us with beauty we enjoy when the season and weather are correct for their growth and lifespan. Some of my previous images for New Year have been a bit gloomy, so lets start this year off with a bit of optimism and a burst of sunlight.
The image needs a bit of explaining. It was taken on the day of a truly spectacular temperature inversion that completely covered the whole of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and way beyond. The sea of cloud was thick and even, and all the remained above the cloud layer was the tops of the very highest hills. This image was taken in the woods on the west side of Worcestershire Beacon in the Malvern Hills and was close to the top of the layer of fog, just at the point where the sun's rays could penetrate and send sunbeams through the trees. It was a truly magical day!

Moonrise over the Niesen with the last sunrays touching the peaks of the Bernese Alps - when I saw this beautiful nature, I dreamed of flying in a balloon over these snowy peaks….

Happy New Year 2021. First sunlight touching my Christmas Lily that originated from my Grandfather's garden 1970s via my Auntie to me in October 2020.
It's a year since I started to feel a bit better after being hit hard with Covid and almost a year to the day since my sister died from Covid. So much has happened since then - some bad but mostly very good including of course upping sticks and moving to France to start a new life. Stay safe. Keep well. Most of all, be happy. 😊
