Yin-yang, in Eastern thought, are the two complementary forces that make up all aspects and phenomena of life.
Yin is a symbol of earth, femaleness, darkness, passivity.
Yang is conceived of as heaven, maleness, light, activity.
In harmony, the two are depicted as the light and dark halves of a circle.
The "Mandarin" Duck is referred to by the Chinese as Yuan-yang, considered as a symbol of affection and marital fidelity.

Der zweite Advent steht für die Polarität, für das >Du<. In der Mayasprache gibt es eine Begrüßung, die sinngemäß lautet:
"Ich bin ein anderes Du selbst". Mein Gegenüber ist ein anderer Teil des eigenen Selbst. Alles, was ich meinem Nächsten antue, tue ich in Wahrheit mir selbst an. Im christlichen Sinne formuliert:
"LIebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst".
Wir sind alle ein Teil des großen Ganzen, und wenn wir noch weiter gehen, so erlangen wir nach und nach die Erkenntnis, dass wir alle eins sind.
Die Woche nach dem zweiten Advent steht für dein Gegenüber, für Liebe und Mitgefühl und für das fühlen insgesamt.
Welche Träume, welchen Visionen, welche Wünsche trägst du in deinem Inneren?

- In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang (lit. "dark-bright", "negative-positive") describes how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.
Many tangible dualities (such as light and dark, fire and water, expanding and contracting) are thought of as physical manifestations of the duality symbolized by yin and yang.
