Yin and Yang are complementary opposites within a greater whole. Everything has both Yin and Yang aspects, which constantly interact, never existing in absolute stasis.

Yuan Yang is a place full of surprise! during only two days, i have come across drizzling, rainstorm, freezing, foggy, sunny and overcast weather. i have also seen a double rainbow. people used to say double rainbow means good luck. i wish this good luck can be delivered to everyone who has happened to see this photo :)

An image looking back at spring when everything was lush and fresh green - remember that? In April this year Forestry England introduced car parking charges across the New Forest National Park - to the predicted outcry of course. Paying aside, I definitely didn't agree with how they went about it - almost barricading their car parks with ditches or wooden posts in the verges surrounding the parking areas - the ditches in particular seemed very destructive just to stop unauthorised parking. I opted for annual membership which, to me is affordable although some locals felt charging anything violated their longheld rights to park wherever they wanted for free.
It did me a favour in the end because I avoided my usual pull-in close to this spot for fear of being illegally parked and stopped in an official car park instead, a good walk way from my usual stop. It made me walk a different route and I wouldn't have noticed this scene. There's quite a contrast in these beeches - a yin yang effect - one light, one dark; one damaged, one apparently intact. Although broken trunks and boughs are part of normal forest life it never stops me having a little pang of sadness whenever I see such established trees falling apart. I have a couple of versions of this scene in mist which I got lucky with a few days later but I preferred the more verdant look of the image here.
For me it was just a good lesson in being forced out of my comfort zone and being open to different creative possiblities - all because of car parking charges!

El yin y el yang (en chino, 阴阳; pinyin, yīnyáng; literalmente, ‘oscuro-brillante’) son dos conceptos del taoísmo, que son usados para representar o referirse a las dos fuerzas fundamentales opuestas y complementarias, pero interconectadas, que se encuentran en todas las cosas; y que esta filosofía atribuye a todo lo existente en el universo. El yin es el principio femenino, la tierra, la oscuridad, la pasividad y la absorción. El yang es el principio masculino, el cielo, la luz, la actividad y la penetración.
Yin and yang (Chinese: 阴阳; pinyin: yīnyáng; literally: ‘dark-bright’) are two concepts from Taoism, which are used to represent or refer to the two fundamental opposing and complementary, but interconnected, forces that are found in all things; and which this philosophy attributes to everything existing in the universe. Yin is the feminine principle, the earth, darkness, passivity and absorption. Yang is the masculine principle, the sky, light, activity and penetration.
