Task for a photography assignment involving shadows & artificial light. I thought I'd try something like this with my newer Alien figures from NECA.
Amanda Ripley (not a new figure but I bought one recently), & a bloody Xenomorph NECA recently released.
One of the many granite outcrops lining the ridge leading to Belstone. I took a photo a while ago from a different angle and named it Xenomorph flic.kr/p/2haRmQR. The boulder on the left looks a bit like the head of an alien.
Down there in the aliens hive, xenomorphs conducts their tasks to ensure and protect the Queen wellness against intruders.
This one is to go with the Dallas I made a while ago. Ideally Kane's helmet would have a clear visor but I don't think Lego make one.

So I'm back from Mexico and I've already started working on some new stuff, a overview of what I did in Mexico should be up within the week.

Oh how I wish I'd stayed an extra couple of days at this amazing location in Nevada.
If I'd known then how restricted our movements would become just a few weeks later, I think I would have savoured the moment more.
When the shackles are finally removed it's going to be so sweet to get our freedom back.
Till then, I'll keep working through the back catalogue.

After seeing the third Alien movie, I needed to do a Alien !
So, I think that's my final version of the Xenomorph. I built many versions, and this one is the best that I can do, and it looks very well I think, so hope you like ! :)
but still, predators (YAUTJA) are more bad ass.....oh and just pretend that T bar is black (btw this was built around a travis brick ) and it is the size of a minifig :)))
Reminds me of the Xenomorph Alien creatures from the film series “Alien” that began in 1979, the inner teeth looked like these icicles in the centre. Best viewed large.
This is inspired by Micah Beideman's fantastic Crestburster. I loved it so much and wanted to have one. This is what I came up with the parts I have. No blueberry jam, only strawberries!

Here, the praying mantis has returned. He's on my hand. He's all alien-proud and bug-happy. Because soon he's gonna eat himself a big fat carpenter bee. Yum! Mmm. Delicious.
Listen, let's be clear, praying mantises are weird. I'll tell you a story about a mantis. The wife and I were sitting outside a museum, and upon the bench arm sat a praying mantis.
As cars would go by down the street, his head would turn and follow them. And he'd gaze quizzically as they passed.
Now, I don't know about you, but I've never seen an insect with that kind of... awareness? If you moved your hand around, he watched it, followed it.
It was like playing with a cat or something, if the cat were green and small and looked like something from Mars.

I was actually returning to sculpting minifigs for a bit and decided I needed a scale reference and ended up making this version of Ripley instead. The rubber bands hold the half bubble dome in place quite securely and provide a nice thin line for the helmet at the same time.
Now to try and get some of these parts in pink, yellow and blue for Dallas, Kane and Lambert.
Parker and Brett shoot the breeze.
I tried to get this as close as I could to the photo in "The Book of Alien". Reasonably obscure reference, but I liked the way the original shot was set up and how my eye was drawn to the characters.
