Eenmaal op zondagavond aangekomen in het hotel werden gelijk de doorkomsttijden in de omgeving van Kil en Karlstad voor de maandagochtend gecontroleerd. Helaas kwamen we tot de conclusie dat een aantal treinen die we graag wilden fotograferen deze maandag zouden uitvallen, en dus moesten we het doen met de treinen die wél gepland waren. Om die reden werd 's ochtends de lijn richting het zuiden opgezocht. Deze spoorlijn loopt van Kil naar Göteborg en vormt een belangrijke as in het goederenvervoer in deze hoek van Zweden. Deze ochtend waren er in totaal drie goederentreinen van Green Cargo onderweg in noordelijke richting. Vanwege de zonstand was Säffle ons eerste doel voor deze ochtend.

Bijna aangekomen in Säffle zagen we op de radar hoe de regionale trein naar Kil ons tegemoet reed. Omdat de eerste trein van Green Cargo nog ongeveer een half uur bij ons verwijderd was, werd een korte stop ingelast om deze trein vast te leggen. De Statens Järnvägar, afgekort SJ, verzorgd een groot deel van het reizigersverkeer in Zweden. Zo ook tussen Kil en Göteborg, waar elke twee uur een trein heen en weer rijdt. Voor Zweedse begrippen is dit geen verkeerd aantal treinen, aangezien sommige andere spoorlijnen het met maar enkele treinen per dag moeten doen. De verbinding tussen Kil en Göteborg wordt verzorgd door treinstellen van het type X52. Hoewel dit treintype bepaald geen onbekende is in Zweden, is de kleurstelling wel redelijk uniek. De frisse blauwe kleur hebben de treinstellen dan ook nog niet zo heel lang. Tijdens deze vakantie hebben wij dit treintype de bijnaam 'Snoek' gegeven. Als trein 352 is treinstel 9079 van SJ/Västtraffik onderweg vanuit Göteborg C naar Kil.

Der Lötschberger auf dem Lötschberg. Täglich und im Stundentakt verbinden die BLS die Städte Brig und Bern mit dem "Lötschberger", den von Bombardier produzierten "Regina" triebwagen. Hier bei der anfahrt aus Lalden talwärts.

This blossom was pretty darn big for a tulip, and I just noticed the sun shining through it, and decided to shoot it backlit, with a bit of a reflector to create some fill light.

Mälab X52 9055 as Rst 12130 Sala - Eskilstuna at Dingtuna. The X52 is painted in the new Mälab-colour scheme and operated by MTR Nordic.

I then waited for the steel train from Bastuträsk to Borlänge, which was scheduled around that time but didn't come - so instead, I show you an unidentified three-piece Regina en route from Gävle C to Ljusdal, and some pretty flowers 💐. Karsjö, 31-07-2021.

Moving north to Hälsingland, Regina X52 9052 approached me through a bed of flowers typical of summer in Sweden, on a Ljusdal - Gävle C working. What is not so typical, is the EMU itself: it has recently been transferred from Upplands Lokaltrafik (Upptåget) to X-Trafik (Xtåget, X being the letter designating Gävleborgs Län) and bears its new operator's logos while - for now at least - maintaining Upptåget's livery. A pair of Victorian Railway EMDs, X52/S312, would have been making one hell of a racket as they climb upgrade between Ambleside and Yantaringa, in the Adelaide Hills, with the overnight Overland service from Melbourne - 20 March 1985.

Deepscapes has become a go to challenge for me and this one is a clear example.

Some info about this image:

1. Everything you see was acquired at 400mm, the same tripod position and night but at different times.

2. First I did the tracked deepsky sesh of RHO in a horizontal position at 1:33am and then did the long exposure of the foreground in a vertical position at 3:33am, I only changed the ballhead direction a bit and turned off the tracker to get the mountain.

3.What makes even more sense in this image is that Rho Ophiuchi rises almost precisely at this alignment from this location with a 95% accuracy after my research watching my own timelapses from this same spot so I'm pretty much on point here.

4. I rotated the Rho Ophiuchi image after processing to match the vertical foreground shot and decided to have Antares up in the right part of the composition so it was rotated 90° to the left, this made the final image very long in the vertical direction, almost like a Panorama.

One the last Bomen Oil trains (T/N 3128) is sighted at Coolalie with the X51 / 8050 and X52 in December 2009.

X52 combines with X50 and X51 to haul 1327 loaded Bomen Fuel south towards Harefield for Ampol/Caltex.

8126 leads X52 and 8177 into Unanderra with a diverted 8938N loaded Manildra Group flour service from Manildra to Bomaderry. The locos will run around their train here before heading south to Bomaderry. This train was unusually diverted to run via Robertson due to trackwork on the Sydney metropolitan goods lines.

The latest addition to the ConneXions Buses fleet is another Volvo B8R with MCV bodywork. This is one of five Volvo/Evoras currently in Craig's fleet. Two work in Leeds usually on the 11 Leeds to Crossgates service. Two inhertied from the collaspe of the Hulley's of Baslow fleet are used on the 13 Haxby to Copmanthorpe service branded and in the Super 13 livery.

This particular vehicle has been acquired from WeaverWay Thatcham, who used this bus as a rail replacement vehicle. The interestimg registration plate P600LPF is for remembering an former Alder Valley Leyland National LPF600P. The bus was also painted into the National Bus Company dual-purpose poppy red scheme, used on down graded coaches for use a stage carriage vehicles.

Mr. Temple has thought about the bus and has given the final finishing touches. To evoke memories of the West Yorkshire Road Car Company Limited, as shown by the bus.

ConneXions also painted a Scania CN94UB with integral Omnicity bodywork in 2015 into the standard NBC poppy red livery (YN04GWX 5480WY). This was a regular performer on the X1 Harrogate Knaresborough St. James's Park service.

Here BNF is seen working the 16:16 965 service, working through Weston, Newall and Chippendale Rise via St, Richards Road, before returning to Otley. During the day BNF works either an X4 or X12 around 10 O'clock in Harrogate then the 16;16 965 route. While working the X52 diagram for the whole shift, finishing at around 17:30 in Harrogate, then home for a rub down and rest.

Regina X52E-3 number 9079 belonging to Västtrafik is employed by SJ on this regional train from Kil (rather than its usual origin, Karlstad C, due to engineering works) to Göteborg C. Smedstad, 06-08-2021.

X52 9055 assurant le 2139 Sala - Linköping (Simonstorp, 19 octobre 2020)

X47 stands in the cold, wind and rain at Bungendore at the head of 2126 empty fuel to Sandown from Canberra. Behind X47 is X52 (offline) and 8050. At this point the train was running nearly half an hour late due to locomotive problems.

X52, X50 and X51 slowly drag their train through the yard at Junee. 1327 is usually used to convey locomotives or wagons to/from Cootamundra/Junee, usually to prevent the main line trains from having to stop to shunt.

In this case, behind the fuel tankers on the train were 11 container flats - two NQKY and nine NQPY wagons. The former are ex CDY open wagons, while the latter are ex OCX/OCY container flats. These container flats were being transferred on behalf of Patricks Portlink, and will be picked up by the next freight service from Griffith to pass through the yard. The wagons are surplus to PPL's diminishing traffic in Sydney, but can be used on the Griffith trains instead.

UppTåget voert de treindiensten van Uppsala naar Sala en Gävle uit waarvoor één X51- en elf X52-treinstellen beschikbaar zijn. Binnenkort begint de indienststelling van acht vierdelige, door Stadler gebouwde Kiss-treinstellen.

Op 25 januari 2020 stond X52 9044 in Uppsala Centralstation gereed om als trein 8448 naar Gävle te vertrekken.

GHA Coaches Volvo B10M / Alexander PS K781 DAO stands in a wet Market Street, Ruthin before taking up an afternoon school contract. The bus had just worked an X52 service from Rhyl.
