The city which used to boast LIC building as the tallest building a decade ago is getting peppered with so many high rise apartment complexes, shopping malls and IT parks that if you are visiting the city after 2-3 years, you would find drastic changes in the landscape of the city. Even the government buildings have been renovated and new buildings are being built all over the city.Read more with extra pictures

A wedding unites two people and strengthens the bond of Love. An Indian wedding is not only this but much more! It is filled with grand rituals and celebration. Indian weddings emphasize as much on bringing two families together, as on the bride and groom. In western countries, the wedding ceremonial pattern is mostly uniform. This is not the case with the Grand Indian Weddings. Each wedding is completely different, since India is made of various castes, communities and languages the rituals followed also varies drastically. As a wedding photographer, I get to witness them first hand.
Recently, I shot the wedding of Dinesh and Sandhya in Erode, Tamilnadu. They belong to the Kongu Vellala Gounder community and their wedding rituals were quiet different from any other weddings I have shot so far. Here's a 4 minutes gist of the entire wedding.

hen I was shooting weddings in US, I always used to browse through the pictures from famous wedding photographers in India and wonder why there are too many pictures in sepia or dual tones. The wedding that shot last week was an eye-opener in many aspects. Indian weddings are so different from the weddings in the west.

Thanks to the old school marketing technique: “word of mouth”. Dinesh and his bride Sandhya were very accommodative and made sure ever Read more

Sanjay and Aamani’s telugu wedding that I shot recently has been featured in Wedding vows along with the write up detailing about the various rituals involved in a telugu wedding. Apart from catering the exclusive wedding market, what I really like about the magazine is the quality of the articles, the print, pictures and the paper used for printing. If you getting married anytime soon, I suggest you subscribe to this magazine. Here’s a little snippet of what to expect in the article.

This week’s story is about Kalladri, belonging to a tribal class called Kuravas or Nari-Kuravas. Kurava tribes are nomadic and have their own language which is mostly made of abusive proverbs, idioms and phrases. The people of these tribes are stereotyped as pickpocketers and thieves though only a very small percentage of them involve in such activities. This tribe attained its popularity when MGR (a southern superstar of yesteryears) enacted a role of Full story and entire article
Shravanabelagola, a sacred place for jains attracts both pilgrims and tourists from various parts of the world. The famous gommateshwara idol stands here. I was in banglore last week and had an opportunity to go visit this temple on a hill top. As a kid I remember watching the “Mahamastakabisheka” in TV. For some reason I was visualizing a statue which was bigger that what I actually saw. This place is 95 kms from Banglore and is on the way to Belur and Halebeedu which are very famous tourist attractions. Read more with extra pictures here
