GIA: „Ashala, was hast Du denn da ? Ist das etwa eine Glocke?“

(Fortsetzung folgt … )

Luis, Bärbel and Sweety left Egypt again by ringing the magic bell once more:

LUIS: “Oh how nice, we're in Northern Ireland and just in time for St Patrick's Day !”

BONNIE: “Hello, welcome to our home! You're dressed greener than green !”

BÄRBEL: “Oh yes, this green material was just in Egypt, but it fits best on the Emerald Isle.”

LUIS: “I've brought a shamrock for each of you. Here you are, dear Bonnie.”

BONNIE smiles: “Thank you.”

ANGEL ASHA: “Luis and Bärbel are visiting! Unfortunately I can't be there, but luckily I can see them from here, woof !”

BÄRBEL: “Tell me Natasha, where are your dogs Ashala and Tilly ?”

NATASHA: “Oh, they're probably running and jumping around here somewhere ...”

SWEETY: “I can see them from up here !”

GIA: “Ashala, what have you got there? Is that a bell ?”

A cloudy day (thank goodness - our heatwave ended a few days ago!) meant that dusk arrived quite early, at least by summer standards! Most dogs I've known over the years have been super excited to go off "hunting"/exploring when out at this time of day - so many interesting sounds & smells to investigate - but not Flynn! The darker it gets, the closer he stays to me. His long lead is on here but I wasn't holding the end, so Flynn was free to roam as he chose. He decided he'd rather stay & sit by me.

He told me all about the owls hooting to each other in the woods below & to the side of us & also about some suspicious rustlings in the hedge right behind us. Of course, once he'd kindly let me know with a grr-wuff!, Flynn then looked expectantly at *me*. Flynn considers himself a watch dog, not a guard dog. Hooman has to be the one to sort the situation & protect us both from these potential monsters... I tried explaining the rustling was likely rabbits, or at worst a badger & I can't exactly stop the wild owls making noise in their own woods & that they don't eat doggies for breakfast anyway but Flynn just grumbled & went back to his watch duty!

A rare moment of stillness, while I did a bit of faddling (it's a technical term!) with the camera.

Wanna play with me, please ?

Wuff !

I has been a wery good boy today, I went to see my vet Florentine this morning. She gave me cuddles and treats and a jab on the back of my neck, she said my teef are good and I'm a little on the - er - cuddly side, but not too bad considering my age - what a cheek! Then we went walkies in Melford, Mum took her camera and made me sit here - I got fed up and lay down! I had a lovely dunk in the river after this, though, so things got better! But then they went and had some lunch, lucky there was a lovely lady in there called Rosie who brought me a biscuit and a big drink! THEN I got dragged round the garden centre - ugh! more flowers!

Mum says to tell you that she will catch up soon. I don't think she should do that, I think she should take me out for more walks! Wuff Dodgie

Hallo Flickr-Leutz,

Wuff, wuff!

Hi Flickr-People,

my name is Benny. The other day, when I took my mom Renate for a walk through the fields, we met a female biped with an odd-looking black box in her hand. My mom talked to her and the stranger began to aim the box with the round thing in front of it at me and made weird clicking sounds. That gave me the creeps! I jumped back and forth wildly and very nervously, but that didn't stop her. All of my woofs went unheard; she kept on clicking and clicking and clicking. Thank goodness nothing bad happened to me! My mom said something else to the stranger and finally I was on my way. Woof, woof!

Story/RP by Ahn and myself..

This was just not even close to anything Roman had ever had to deal with before. His people tended to try and keep him away from things that resembled stress or real danger and so for several moments he just stood there, rooted in place in shock and indecision. Then with a hard shake of his head, he got ahold of himself and took some action. Running down the stairs he grabbed the portable spotlight and a lifesaver ring on rope from the wall and headed out to the peak of land to look for swimmers. All the while, the fog horn sounded its sad song.

The waves and winds made for an unlikely ally, moving him along the edges of the currents instead of pulling him under this time. The bright yellow poncho played peek-a-boo with the water’s surface as he was being dragged along into shallow waters, occasionally hitting against the rocky edges of the natural landscape until the sea finally tired of him and spit him up on shore with a hefty push to land.

Roman was watching the sea for survivors, spotlight lifted high to light as far out as he could. He was not looking for a body on the pebble strewn sand until he tripped over one, literally. With a startled wuff of breath, he fell to one knee, the light flying out of his grasp and rolling off over the sand where it winked out, broken. Leaving him in darkness. In the moments it took for his eyes to adjust he ran his hands over the still, sodden form. “Hello?’ Cool slender fingers found the stranger's throat, feeling for life. “Are you still in there?”

There was the faintest of pulses few and far between. Even in his ‘dreams’ he was swimming. No, not swimming, sinking. He couldn’t see anything but there was light that was fading the further he sunk until there was nothing left but the darkness to surrender to.

Alive! Full of seawater but still alive. This was one of the few emergencies Roman knew how to handle himself, it would be true foolishness to live on an island and not know how to deal with drowning. With a decisive move, he flipped the man over and started forcing out the seawater.

When walking home from my New Year's Eve party I came across this lovely little door in the neighbourhood that is so very nicely decorated with many details to discover when having a closer look.

Let your 2024 shine bright like the diamonds in front of this tiny door! :)
