The two Holstein bulls were not friendly and actually quite intimidating, as you can tell from the attitude in this picture of one of them.

Snapped my rear mech off on Friday. Then found out this weekend how awkward rear mech hangers are to find. Easily the least standardised bike part.

This album tells a story about a wrong turn, a lost girl, and a ghost town. This collection is meant to capture a quiet and eerie nature of a forgotten town. When we went to take these photos, I was super excited about the weather conditions. However, I found to way to use this as my strength when crafting the narrative and how I would choose to shoot these photos. While the gloomy weather would be subpar for capturing a magic fairytale land, it was perfect for capturing a ghost town. The entire exercise was fun and I have begun seeing the world through a different lens. I’ve started to look at objects as props and have found myself crawling on wet ground more often than I’d care for. Every piece of garbage, rusted pipe, or cracked stone has a story, which was the basis of this narrative. Something I would like to do better, or different, is capture a natural narrative. Instead of observing people in their element and framing that, I instead crafted a story with a hired model, which certainly feels artificial at its core. I’d like to take a step out of my comfort zone next time.

This photo satisfies requirement 4. I shot this photo of the cherry blossoms on a sunny day using a white balance of 4000K (which is recommended for use under fluorescent light). I set my camera on manual to use a shutter speed of 1/200 and aperture of f/25.0 in an effort to reign back the light from shooting directly at the sun. Even so, the sky is completely overexposed (requirement 1).

Initially the white balance made the photo very cold with a blueish undertone, but I wanted the blossoms to have a more natural color. I found that by raising the blue hue on Photoshop, I could achieve the pinkish color I have now. Because the blossoms were also very light due to the overexposure, I raised the black "level" which helped to give the center of the blossoms more definition.

Wait, didn't I just leave Dallas... then I realized San Antonio doesn't have a football team. And they're "America's Team" so I guess it's OK.

Day 152/365

I spent a large chunk of tonight going through old photos. Chucking out bad ones and extras. I don't understand why I always got doubles... I never gave any away. Weirdo. Anyway, I took a photo of the pile of trash. Haha. I did some weird editing on it, cause I felt like being out of the box and all wrong.

I don't particularly want to go to work. I wish I could make my own schedual.

A visit to the mound. I don't think he got the pitch he was looking for and the pitcher knows it!
