Eleanor's writeup from the SPCR website:

ELEANOR…is a darling SEAL POINT SIAMESE. She is 2 years old, spayed and has her claws. She weighs a slim 7 pounds and has an easy, short coat and bright blue eyes. Eleanor came to us from a local shelter and was, as her foster mom describes her, “fur and bones.” She was very ill from her time at the shelter but through the constant TLC of her caregiver she has made a full recovery and is certainly ready for her FurEver Home! Eleanor is a very SMART, busy, playful kitty who is always on the move and loves to be by her people (Very social!). She is a bit talkative and likes to be a part of whatever is going on. Currently she is not a lap cat (too busy!) but that could change as she gets older. She loves to be pet and is quite affectionate. Eleanor will probably be fine with other pets as long as she is slowly and properly introduced. She did get used to the dog in her foster home, and though she tends to be dominant with other cats she would probably be fine with an easy-going male. Eleanor is very gentle with her playing and would be a good family cat with respectful kids.

Stone Mountain Park.

Writeup on back: Stone Mountain, the largest exposed mountain in the world with 83 acres of exposed granite, is a tribute to American history and a monument to the Confederacy. The Memorial Carving measures 90 feet by 190 feet and depicts three southern heroes of the Civil War, Confederate President Jefferson Davis, and Generals Robert E Lee and Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson.

The toad who came to visit this summer. Every hot day he sat between our office storm door and inner door, out of the sun. We named him Mr. Bufo; by autumn, he'd moved on to outdoor haunts. He (though I suspect it is a she) is a member of Bufo americanus, the common American toad, and the subset of the eastern American variety. (See the Univ. of Michigan's Animal Biodiversity Web page for a great writeup on these toads. (NOTE: If you run across these toads, or any toads, don't pick them up if you don't have to -- it upsets them, and the glands [warts] on their backs contain a mild poison that you could accidentally rub on your face or pass along to a family pet, who will not be as immune to the poison as you.)
