Mountain Goat. Summer vacation on Mt Evans in Colorado. Loved these guys!! Loved the mountains ... PERIOD!!
I'm so far behind, you're all going to end up abandoning me for sure. It took me six booked flights trying to get back from Vegas last week, work has been a nightmare and my mom is back in the hospital. So I hope you'll all understand.

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

Divided reverse. Letter very kindly translated by Nettenscheider, authored on 22/03/1917, the author writes to his brother to discuss the family business. Towards the end of the letter, he mentions der großen Offensive and how he was prepared to wait. I wonder if he was referring to the Spring Offensive of 1918?
A good view of a Daimler-Krupp 7.7cm K-Flak being readied for action in March 1917. The absence of further gun-crew and the casual appearance of the fellows on the right are indicators that there is no real threat of enemy aircraft at this point.
Miss Simmuse round 3. Rather challenging, yes. I had no idea what pose to go for, for quite sime time and I couldnt think of anything to do with the backrounds.. But then I just came up with this and I like how it all turned out. The pose must have been the worst Ive ever attempted - it was so hard to get the proportions right and everything, I still think I didnt quite nail it.. But oh well, I need to get over this picture :D
Ive been listening to a lot of muse and rammstein while doing this and they inspired me so much! Thus the title hehe.

Hyakunin isshu (百人一首) is a traditional anthology style of compiling Japanese waka poetry where each contributor writes one poem for the anthology. Literally, it translates to "one hundred people, one poem [each]". It also refers to the card game of uta-garuta, which uses a deck composed of poems from one such anthology.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

A second Vertorama from the lake ( De put ) where I went last saturday.
I told I was going to write you a little vertorama tutorial when I had more of these under my belt, but now I think that the method will proof itself much faster if you all give it a try.
The little vertorama tutorial is down below.
The shot
2 x Standard 3 exposures HDR [-2,0,+2EV] in RAW/ISO100 at f/8 using the Sigma 10-20mm lens, on a tripod.
Photomatix
Tonemapped using the detail enhancer.
Vertorama stitching : the lazy bastard way.
As input you need two shots taken horizontally, one above the other with about 30% overlap, I've used 2 horizontal HDR shots taken at 11mm here but that ain't important, just rest assured that there ain't no problem with the widest shots.
So here is the photoshop part :
1) Load both shots into photoshop.
2) If there is too much difference in the colour or brightness of the shot you can alter
one of them to match the most pleasing of the two using the normal tools you
should know by now. This sure doesn't need to be an exact match.
3) Copy paste one of them into the other.
4) Rotate the canvas 90°
5) Select both layers
6) Select 'Edit>Auto-Align layers...' and be sure to select 'Cylindrical stitching'
7) Select 'Edit>Auto-Blend layers'
8) Rotate the canvas 90° in the opposite direction of the previous rotate.
9) Flatten the image.
Now all you have to do is a crop and do all other photoshop work you wish.
Hope it will work out for you too: quick and easy !
In fact this is so dead easy that you can poor this into a photoshop action (step 3 until 9 ) :
I sure did!
You might be wondering what that 90° rotating comes from, but it's plain stupid: the photoshop 'Cylindrical Stitching' algorithm was written to stitch shots taken horizontally, as a cylinder around the photographer, since we're producing Vertorama's here we just fool the algorithm by rotating our images 90°.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Not only stupid images.
This is a midday (-ish) shot from the Salar de Tara in the Atacama desert area of Chile.
If you're ever in San Pedro de Atacama then this is the single, best trip there is going from there, imho. It's not one that is especially prominent on the tour company advertising as it's a long day and high altitude, but I've done it twice now and the terrain is fantastic. I'll write about this area more in my next blog article.
As with all the salars in the Atacama - all that I've seen anyway - the nature of the salt surface is radically different from the Salar de Uyuni.
The sky is not polarised, incidentally; at least, not by me. This surface is at 4,336m., so the altitude produces natural polarisation of the sky and gives it this deep colour, even to the naked eye.

Main story

until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

I could write a caption, "I'm coming, mama, I will save you from my naughty sibling!" as the approaching cub jumps all over the one hassling mom. They all pretty much ended up in a heap. Amazing fun to watch. The mother is Teton grizzly 793, affectionally known by locals as "Blondie". I was privileged to enjoy them for several hours, most of the time obstructed by the flora, only ears showing, or faces stuffed in the grasses. But occasionally, there was a quick and thrilling photo op. Grand Teton National Park.

I could write so much about that little past dream and did have a narrative for this photo however events today have meant that I can write something different instead.
Well I went into town today to get some rollers to give my hair a little wave (I will let you know how that goes) and after popping into one or to shops I headed back to the car. to do this I had to pass a dress shop that does the normal kind of thing prom/wedding dresses! I had noticed a few day prior that they were having a sale so as I was passing I dropped in.
Ok I wasn't Helen but hey who who cares when fancy frocks are involved lol
As I walked through the door the bell rang like a peel from the local church. Then this little lady appeared I asked if she had anything in my size. That was the start of an interesting hour and a half chatting about makeup dresses trans life and all thing girly.
She left me to look around but nothing really jumped out until I found one 50s style green satin dress it is to due for from this point nothing else compared apart from a very tranny purple number with purple and black feathers around the top of the bodice. I then went into the next room with all the wedding dresses in. at this point she asked if I found anything.
Well I told her about the green number and that I just could not afford it but she dragged me back to view it again and it looks like maybe a deal could be struck.
She then started to drag some other dresses out all I liked but not enough to buy. the funny thing was she chose one or two drag queen style frocks she thought I would look good in. Well a conversation about positive presentation followed and the time just rolled by.
It was left that I will go back and try the dresses I liked and maybe come to an arrangement as to the cost of the green one but I don't think that will ever me mine :-(
It turns out the owner is retiring and is selling off her stock. so if any one is looking for a ball gown/prom dress or a wedding dress and you live in Essex or Suffolk drop me a line and I will pass the details on.
Well looks like this dress will have to do for now.
Sandy the Landy writes: After a long spell away, sorting out my cooling problems, I am finally back with my mates.
I now have a modified radiator, oil cooler, electric fan, to stop me from getting hot and bothered. The boss has been very understanding, and I am looking forward to getting back to work. I am towing Anastasia up to Edinburgh later on today.
She is not too heavy and has curves in all the right places , if you catch my drift.
On parade and to my extreme right is Oscar with his sheer sides very short wheel base, and lights behind the grill. In the middle is Old Faithful, whose reliability and performance is awesome, and then me. By the time I was built headlights were in the wings to comply with changes to lighting regulations in The North American Dollar Area (NADA) where many of my 6 pot brethren ended up.
I last visited Santa Fe in 2002 and the memory of the place as stayed with me, although it is the capital of New Mexico it has such a small town charm.
This shot is not of any of the landmark buildings just a little side street near the State Capital building I like the mixture of the colours, the metal work and the adobe walls.
If I were able to live in the USA there would be three cities I would have to choose between Denver, New Orleans and Santa Fe. One advantage that Santa Fe has is that’s its in the high desert and has on average 340 days of sun a year I could live with that.

I’d like to say that I’m lonely, but I’m not. I’d like to ignore everyone, but I can’t bring myself to do it. I’d like to remain depressed for a couple of days and indulge in my sadness, but I can’t.
It’s annoying to know that this is temporary. It’s annoying to know that it stems from a bunch of other shit that I don’t want to write down right now. It’s annoying to know that I have some level of control over my emotions. It’s annoying to know that I’m being irrational.
The the biggest thing that I do know is that sometimes, you just really need to feel like you fucking matter to someone. Yes, I realize that I can sit here and just “know” that I matter, but it’s an entirely different thing to actually feel it.

The Hubble photograph captures thousands of star clusters, hundreds of thousands of individual stars, and “ghosts” of dead stars called supernova remnants. The galactic panorama unveils a tapestry of the drama of stellar birth and death spread across 50,000 light-years.
The newest generations of stars are forming largely in clusters on the edges of the dark spiral dust lanes. These brilliant young stellar groupings, only a few million years old, produce huge amounts of ultraviolet light that is absorbed by surrounding diffuse gas clouds, causing them to glow in pinkish hydrogen light.
Gradually, the fierce stellar winds from the youngest, most massive stars blow away the gas, revealing bright blue star clusters and giving a “Swiss Cheese” appearance to the spiral arms. These youngest star clusters are about 1 million to 10 million years old. The populations of stars up to 100 million years or older appear yellow or orange by comparison because the young blue stars have already burned out.
Interstellar “bubbles” produced by nearly 300 supernovas from massive stars have been found in this Hubble image. By studying these supernova remnants, astronomers can better understand the nature of the stars that exploded and dispersed nuclear processed chemical elements back into the galaxy, contributing to the next generation of new stars.

Hmm.. I've been thinking of what to write here.. for like AGES. Believe me. I had the whole thing planned out; how it would look, what I would talk about, whom I would thank, blah blah blah. But the thing with me is that.. I forget. :D

When did I start this project? Wait, Lemme check.
Ahh.. 20th of September.
100 Days project ended on the 4th of January.
Wait, is that a full hundred days?
Gawh, I'm bad at math, so I'll leave that calculation to the Einsteins in here :)
What I've realized is that even though there are times when you just wanna throw away your camera just because you feel you're not good enough for it or because the pictures you take suck.. Doesn't mean you gotta give up. What's that everlasting saying about trying?
"Try and try until you succeed."
Well, I didn't so much as succeed as blow myself to death.
But I did learn, right.
There are so many things, ways, pictures that I have tried out, by just looking staring, at YOUR awesomeness!
1. I've tried light leaks. here and here and there are a couple more scattered around my stream.
2. Over exposed something and made it look presentable.
3. Tried Light Painting.
4. I've given a sort of "burnt" feeling to one.
5. Underwater feeling to another.
6. I've rotated a picture in a weird way.
7. Did a photoshoot on Friendship <3
8. Put text on a photo in a different dancy way.
9. I've had my friends turn into models and taken portraits of 'em.
10. Given that sorta "Aurora" look to one and total bokeh to another.
11. Tried out close up macro shots for the first time of droplets.
12. Gotten a Black&White photo with grain.
13. Taken a shot of an animal.. first time ever! :D
14. Gone bubbly
15. Ventured into the Fog.
16. I've been wacko with Sun flares <3.
17. I went on so many Roadtrips and looked at countless landscapes.
18. Done a total SOOC Push.
19. Taken a total horror and creeepy picture.
20. Played with Mirrors.

Seen me through thick and thin, and congratulated me on winning our Photography Contest.
And damn, just being there and showing your existence.
Flickr made me share so many other things other than just my photos. I've heard music from different parts and loved them, met challenges. But mostly, I've changed so much, as a person. I've made friends, gotten wacko flickr-mails. And even met people on Facebook and had humongously extraordinary chats with them! :D I've realized how I much I love taking photos of people. People laughing, crying, playing and even dancing! I've been in awe at the landscapes all around me. Tried out new things and liked some of them and thrown the others down the dumpster.
100 Days doesn't seem to be such a big thing and maybe thats because its a.. well, a Hundred Days. But I feel like I've accomplished something. Something that has taken me higher, given me a sort of, position in my life. It feels good to have known that I finished a 100 days, without stopping or just coming to a halt or something like that.
I could've started a 365 instead of the hundred days, but the problem was that I couldn't get a Pro account. So in the end, I had to settle for the 100 Days. Maybe in the future, maybe later, who knows when, I might just ask my dad to get me a pro account :]
Sigh.. I just re-read this description again and dang.. It feels.. awkward!

Anyways, I wanted to thank my friend, Adeeti (I think I've mentioned her quite a lot now! :D) who risks everything for me. She sat on the edge of our terrace and basically dangled her feet in the mouth of death ( -___- ). No. Seriously! Gawd, I love that girl! <3

Wandering the streets of Vancouver's Eastside.
This mural is on the south side of the York Theatre on East Georgia Street at Commercial Drive.
The mural was painted in June 2018.
Designed and painted by The Cultch Youth Program, youth program manager Ariel Martz-Oberlander, and lead artists Richard Tetrault and Sharifah Marsden.
The mural features some very Vancouver motifs (a bicycle and rain drops) plus one prominent figure: local hip-hop artist and activist JB the First Lady.
JB THE FIRST LADY:
Jerilynn Snuxyaltwa Webster (a member of the Nuxalk & Onondaga Nations) is known by her stage name "JB the First Lady". Webster was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan 12 March, 1984.
Webster moved to Vancouver in the early 2000s where she attended her first hip-hop show by Tribal Wisdom, a group of young Indigenous rappers. The show was a pivotal moment for Webster in her journey as a hip-hop artist inspiring her to create music to empower other young people.
JB is well known for her involvement in the Idle No More movement and for emceeing rallies for Indigenous rights, decolonization, environmental justice, and the issue of violence against Indigenous women.
Despite national recognition, Webster maintains a strong focus on supporting and giving back to youth in her community.
JB is hip hop and spoken word artist, beat-boxer, cultural dancer and youth educator. With four studio albums under her belt, JB sees her songs as a way of capturing oral history, and isn’t afraid to write lyrics that speak to challenging subjects like residential schools and missing and murdered indigenous women.
YORK THEATRE:
Opened in 1913 as the Alcazar Theatre it was built with full stage facilities and was designed by architect John McCarter.
On February 12, 1940 it was re-named York Theatre and became the home of the Vancouver Little Theatre for 54 years. In the 1940’s the facade was given a streamline Art Moderne' style remodel.
In more recent years it became a cinema, known as the Raja Cinema Commercial operated by Raja Cinemas and showed Indian movies. The closed and by 2008, the building was threatened with demolition.
In collaboration with Vancouver City councillor Jim Green and Henriquez Partners Architects a feasibility study was completed that demonstrated the viability of reinvesting in the theatre.
With the financial backing from the City of Vancouver and Wall Financial a local developer, the York Theatre was saved and rehabilitated through a heritage and density transfer agreement.
The building reopened as the York Theatre December 2013 as a live performance theatre with 370 seats.
The York is operated by the Vancouver East Cultural Centre (CULTCH)

This was taken just before 6am on the morning of 15th May from a beach in the National Park, where there is less incidental light. They are quite visible in Sydney, but the whole sky was lit up with skys and constellations. Great spot to take night photographs of the sky, if you arrive early enough that is !!! it was already getting light. Sunrise was at 6.15am

Star gazers have another grand celestial event to celebrate. The finest planetary conjunction of the year will happen on May 11 when Venus passes very close to the south of Jupiter. The two brightest planets on the sky will not get this close anytime before August 2014.
Beginning May 11, the four planets Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Mars will rearrange themselves to form different patterns in the sky. This celestial spectacle can be easily seen through the naked eye. On May 13, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter will form a triangle and on May 20, it will be Mars, Venus, and Mercury in the triangular position.
Though two other planets, Uranus and Neptune, will also participate in this show in the sky, but viewing them will need the aid of a telescope.
It is a rare phenomenon when so many planets can be viewed at one time on one section of the sky.
The rare planetary conjunction will end on May 30, when a crescent Moon also joins the party.
The truly remarkable event - when Jupiter lines up with Venus, Mercury and Mars in the pre-dawn sky - will be visible in Australia's eastern sky this Friday. Its the closest Planetary grouping until 2040
The alignment of the four planets, which happens only once every 50 to 100 years, will occur just before sunrise, the Sydney Observatory says.
"Every couple of years you get two or three planets that come close together, but to have four is particularly rare," the observatory's education officer, Geoffrey Wyatt, said.
The last time Australians saw such a show was in 1910, and the next occasion would not be until 2056, Mr Wyatt said.
During the alignment, from 5am (AEST) on Friday, the four planets will be visible just above the horizon in the east.
Venus, in the middle of the group, will be the brightest. Just above and to the left will be Jupiter, while Mercury will be to the right of Jupiter and slightly fainter.
Early risers have already noticed Jupiter and Venus in the eastern sky before sunrise, Mr Wyatt said.
"It looks pretty much like two headlights coming towards you. We are getting lots of calls already saying there are two bright lights in the sky."
He wouldn't speculate on how the alignment might influence people, astrologically speaking.

Calligraphy has had a long history in Vietnam, previously using Chinese characters along with Chu Nom. However, most modern Vietnamese calligraphy instead uses the Roman-character based Quoc Ngu, which has proven to be very popular.
In the past, with literacy in the old character-based writing systems of Vietnam being restricted to scholars and elites, calligraphy nevertheless still played an important part in Vietnamese life. On special occasions such as the Lunar New Year, people would go to the village teacher or scholar to make them a calligraphy hanging (often poetry, folk sayings or even single words). People who could not read or write also often commissioned scholars to write prayers which they would burn at temple shrines
