Though I guess I knew it was coming as I got closer and closer to take these shots, today was a first! A Lubber, perhaps this one, actually jumped over onto my lens. And when I looked down, it was staring me in the eye. We both said hello and I gently put my lens against the leaf and it walked off to continue eating!
When I started this description, I was going to write about the Lubber's many red mouth parts but it got so complicated for me... who is totally passionate about Lubbers at this point... that I knew that it would be too complicated for you. Usually, I don't write captions for photos - I believe a picture should tell its own story. But this one... I feel a connection to it, so I'll share.
In Seoul, near the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, there's a public piano. As a music lover, I can never walk past when someone's playing. And if they play well, I can get hang out there for ages.
That day, I sat down with a small crowd to listen to an elderly man. He played virtuosically – classical pieces. You could tell instantly: a professional.
Behind us, standing apart from the group, was a young man. Eyes closed. Just standing there. Rhythmically tapping a book in his hand. I don't know what was in his mind, but he was very focused.
Meanwhile, the pianist paused, then launched into something familiar. It was Let It Be by the Beatles.
I turned my head... and saw him. The young man. Eyes still closed, but now a blissful smile spread across his face. And in that same moment – tears streamed down his cheeks while a quiet laugh shook his shoulders. So raw. So alone. Away from everyone.
It was clear the emotions were simply overwhelming him. I don't know – maybe the song meant something personal? Maybe he had some sudden insight? But in that outpouring, he was beautiful and utterly exposed.
This is what this photo is about. About sincere emotions from music, from life.
The thing is, I adore that song myself, and The Beatles. And I react the same way – deeply, emotionally – when I hear or see something that strikes a chord in my heart.
Since I was filming the pianist on my phone, I had to fumble quickly to switch to the camera, desperate to capture that fleeting moment of a stranger's raw vulnerability on the street. And yes, the peak intensity had passed; the wave of emotion had subsided.
But the hint of that contented smile remained.
And he kept standing there, eyes closed, smiling softly until the final chord faded.

This is yet another image from telescope live. Although the total exposure time was a little over 45 minutes, the fact that Orion is so bright meant that the snr was still quite high. I’ve been iterating through versions of this image to figure out the best method of HDRing the core, and I feel like I’ve been settling on a pretty solid method using MMT. The detail in the core that I managed to pull out is really interesting to look at, so I highly recommend looking at the full PNG or the cropped views down below.
Few astronomical sights excite the imagination like the nearby stellar nursery known as the Orion Nebula. The Nebula’s glowing gas surrounds hot young stars at the edge of an immense interstellar molecular cloud. Many of the filamentary structures visible in the featured image are actually shock waves – fronts where fast moving material encounters slow moving gas. The Orion Nebula spans about 40 light years and is located about 1500 light years away in the same spiral arm of our Galaxy as the Sun. The Great Nebula in Orion can be found with the unaided eye just below and to the left of the easily identifiable belt of three stars in the popular constellation Orion. The featured image, taken last month, shows a two-hour exposure of the nebula in three colors. The whole Orion Nebula cloud complex, which includes the Horsehead Nebula, will slowly disperse over the next 100,000 years.

Hi everyone. While I was off- line in Cambridge it appears I reached 2 million views on my stream which seems such a huge number: anyway for those of you who do, thanks for taking the time to look at my stuff.
The weather gods were on our side in Cambridge incredibly good light for the whole time we were there. I love the intense colours you get with late autumn and winter sunlight.
This is a view of the Backs at Cambridge from Clare College. It was a chilly day but there were still brave souls punting on the River Cam. I only got back last night so no time to do anything with this shot other than a crop.

Op maandag 10 december reed, voor Amnesty International, de Write for Rights-trein door Nederland. Nadat de trein 's ochtends uit Amsterdam is vertrokken en het gehele land doorgereden is, is de trein, ruim tien uur later, bijna weer op het beginpunt aangekomen. Onder nummer 39385 staat RXP 9901 gereed op Haarlem voor het laatste stukje van de reis.
Am Montag der 10. Dezember fuhr, im Auftrag von Amnesty International, den Write for Rights Zug durch die Niederlanden. Nachdem der Zug am Morgen aus Amsterdam abgefahren war, und eine Runde durch fast das ganze Land gemacht wurde, ist der Zug mehr als 10 Stunden später fast wieder zurück in Amsterdam. Im Bild steht Railexperts 9901 mit Zug 39385 abfahrbereit am Bahnhof Haarlem für das letzte Teil der Reise.
On Monday the 10th of December the Write for Right train was making a journey through the Netherlands for Amnesty International. After the train departed from Amsterdam in the morning, making a journey through the Netherlands, more than 10 hours later the train has almost reached it starting point again. Railexperts 9901 is waiting at Haarlem as train 39385 for the last part of the journey.
Photographer Wayne D. Hills writes, “This was a Friday, and as a spare train dispatcher I sometimes had odd days off from work, and this was one of them. It was a gorgeous day, so I headed to East Deerfield to do a little rail fanning. While standing on the bridge at the West end of the yard, when the 1178 showed up with two cars and a buggy, and I turned around to the West side of the bridge to see where they were headed. Yikes! They were headed down to the Turners Falls Branch! I knew of this photo opportunity beforehand, as a couple of friends had taken similar shots. I ran to the car and shot them crossing the Connecticut River, then headed down to find the golf course. Parking out of the way of traffic, I walked up on the bridge over the tracks and waited. And waited... They couldn’t have been doing more than 5 or 10 miles per hour down the branch, and it took quite a while for them to show up.
“I was hoping for a good shot with lots of sun, and luck was with me, although I kept my fingers crossed as a cloud started to cover the sun. I used two cameras that day; a 35mm camera with slide film, and also a medium format camera, which I usually used with black and white negative film, but this day I had slide film in that camera as well. The attached scan is from the medium format slide. One of the slides I took that day was published in the book Boston & Maine, Forest, River and Mountain by Robert Willoughby Jones. The date in the book is in error; it should read July 22, 1977, not 1997.”

This is another image from telescope live: the Crescent Nebula. It was a tough dataset to stack, as there were a bunch of dead pixel lines from the CCD. However, once the dataset was stacked, it was quite fun to process. The Oiii data was extremally strong, and it was really interesting to see the extent of the wispiness around the nebula. I’ve been experimenting with a new “natural” pallete made from SHO emissions, and I think it turned out pretty accurate!
NGC 6888, also known as the Crescent Nebula, is a cosmic bubble about 25 light-years across, blown by winds from its central, bright, massive star. It combines a composite color image with narrow band data that isolates light from hydrogen and oxygen atoms in the wind-blown nebula. The oxygen atoms produce the blue-green hue that seems to enshroud the detailed folds and filaments. NGC 6888’s central star is classified as a Wolf-Rayet star (WR 136). The star is shedding its outer envelope in a strong stellar wind, ejecting the equivalent of the Sun’s mass every 10,000 years. The nebula’s complex structures are likely the result of this strong wind interacting with material ejected in an earlier phase. Burning fuel at a prodigious rate and near the end of its stellar life this star should ultimately go out with a bang in a spectacular supernova explosion. Found in the nebula rich constellation Cygnus, NGC 6888 is about 5,000 light-years away.

1. being a night-person, my 'best' ideas mostly come after midnight!
2. it is an urge, not a choice... and
3. ... as soon as you have 'problems', however small, with client, family, health... the first thing to GO is: my creativity! So please, tee hee, do not upset me, he?

I had a spare roll of film lying around, so I had an idea to use a few frames to take pictures of the words 'Belle and Sebastian Write About Love'.
The words were in black lettering on a white background, so as to create the starkest contrast that would show up on a negative...

Ema 絵馬 are small wooden plaques on which Shinto worshippers write their prayers or wishes. The ema are then left hanging up at the shrine, where the kami (spirits or gods) receive them. They bear various pictures, often of animals or other Shinto imagery, and many have the word ”gan'i“ (願意), meaning "wish", written along the side.
In ancient times people would donate horses to the shrines for good favor; over time this was transferred to a wooden plaque with a picture of a horse, and later still to the various wooden plaques sold today for the same purpose.
Ema are sold for various wishes. Common reasons for buying a plaque are for success in work or on exams, marital bliss, to have children, and health. Some shrines specialize in certain types of these plaques, and the larger shrines may offer more than one. Sales of ema help support the shrine financially.

Okay after Drakes Bento Bom Head was broken i have buy him a new complete avi no longer Eveboi Body it´s Maitreya and V-Tech with Catwa Head in Asia Style and now he is write a Book in Lincoln County Sim but the problem i have found 1000 errors in this book :D drake must learn better write books :) .
