Last night, at The Book Cafe, a few Filipina female writers were invited to read. So Noelle, Tara, Nadine and I read excerpts from our books to a very intimate group.
Student presentations of original poetry, short stories, monologues, raps, and dances. They performed alongside improv group "Improvised Shakespeare Co." from Chicago, IL in the third annual "Write Night" as part of the fourth annual "Writers Week" at Grayslake Central High School.

The idea behind this still life drawing was to write my name on a piece of paper, mash it into a ball, and then unravel the ball of paper to create a still life image that focuses on tonal range through detail. I also used soft values to create the difference between the hard foreground and soft background.
