Just wanted To Post an update on my WRB, now with small changes to the face and legs , but same attitude, hope you like it
Here is a day by day breack of my building process, this one took me 5 days at 2-3 hours each day on it.
Church Creek is a small, often dry, tributary to the Kowmung River, in the Kanangra-Boyd National Park, NSW, Australia. The caves found there are popular with bushwalkers since they are an easy diversion from a walk down the Kowmung and don't require much equipment to explore (though today they do require a permit).
I was surprised there are no images of these caves on Flickr so thought I'd add this documentary style shot of a part of CC4, probably the largest cave in the group.
Taken on film some time back in the late eighties.
My own take on Metro from the movie Realsteel :D More WRB action!! Build Video is on youtube youtu.be/v0tZSP6DOxM

The first Tank Mech, The fast version of a tank, it has more armor than most mechs, but it is fast enough to fight on CQC.
It is Armed with a massive axe (Tak-CS) and a Shotgun, It also has an energy Shield Generator, that can deploy a shield of a radius of 500 mts, protecting fallen troops from enemy fire, that is why it fights close quarters, to protect insde the shield.
My wife once told me that every woman has to have a pair of red shoes, an I say we should all have at least one red mech, here is mine.
I liked the idea of a warrior tank mech and one that soldiers would see and know that would protect them, hence the father nickname.
So what do you think? you can check out the image of the day by day updates I did to complete this mech

On the IC8 from Romanshorn to Brig. The lower part of the WRB restaurant-bistro cars is now called Train Bar. Are there really people drinking cocktails on the train? Switzerland, July 21, 2022.
Watco East West train 6SS2, an empty livestock train, entering Dulacca while bound further west for Morven. Great to see two of the older WRB locomotives leading.

Lower Silesia is the northwestern part of the historical and geographical region of Silesia in the south-west Poland.
The landscape of the Lower Silesia changes from lowland to mountains as from the north to the south. Main two large geographical regions are therefore distinguished: the Silesian Lowlands and the Sudety (Sudetes) Mountains.
The Silesian and Silesian-Lusatian Lowlands are separated by the valley of river Kaczawa, and from the Sudetes by a steep morphological edge located along the Sudetes Marginal Fault, extended from Bolesławiec (the northwest) to Złoty Stok (the southeast). The southern part of the Lowland includes the Sudetes Foreland, consisting of quite low Wzgórza Strzegomskie (Strzegom Hills, 232 m), group of Ślęża (Mount Ślęża, 718 m), and Wzgórza Niemczańsko-Strzelińskie (Niemcza-Strzelin Hills, 392 m).
In a geological sense, the Sudetes Foreland is a part of the Sudetes Mountains and was created as a result of tectonic movements which separated one crystalline massif into two parts: a mountain uplifted part and a tectonic foreland (lower) part. The foreland remained a not very high plain with a few elevations, thus its morphology is similar rather to the Silesian Lowland than to the Sudetes. The eastern part of Silesian Lowlands consists of the wide plains, located along banks of the Oder River. From the north, the lowlands are delimited by the Wał Trzebnicki, consisting of chain of hills that are 200 km long and over 150 m high.

This image is a 2000X1250 pixel scan from a slide, print or negative. The vast majority of the shots were scanned during the 2007-2014 period. Some images may be re-uploaded from the earliest versions which were done in a smaller size and are noted accordingly.
The images here from my own collection. They are a combination of my own photographs, as well as those acquired over 40+ years through trading, purchasing, and attending various slide events around the world.
This photostream was initially created in 2017 for archival purposes, and in the years since (to 2023) has had over 11 million image views.

World Soil Day (Germany) Photo and text provided by:

In Germany the World Soil Day was used to announce the Soil of the Year 2013: The Plaggic Anthrosol (Plaggenesch). The German name Plaggenesch combines the terms “Plaggen” and “Esch”. “Plaggen”, or sods, are flat blocks of soil material with its above herbal or shrub or grassy vegetation and felted roots, shallowly scraped with a hoe or a spade. “Esch” originated from the Gothic word “astic”, and describes a usually slightly more elevated area of the arable land.
According to German Soil Taxonomy, the diagnostic horizon of a Plaggenesch is the “E” horizon, which is more than 40 cm in thickness, containing at least 0.6 % organic matter and increased phosphate contents. Additionally, artefacts such as charcoal, pieces of bricks and other remnants of daily use are typical findings. Plaggenesch soils can be differentiated into “Brown Plaggenesch” (resulting from loamy meadow sods of a brownish colour and “Grey Plaggenesch” (composed of sandy and greyish heather sods).

This truck was formerly in the livery of Tennant Transport of Forth started in the early 1900s when founder Peter Tennant set up business transporting farm produce and coal by horse and cart from his home in Forth. The company is now run by fourth generation John Tennant and Graham Sorbie from both Forth and Lockerbie with a mixed fleet of over 48 vehicles, which operate throughout the UK. and is the subject of a fine Oxford Diecast model

Originally a firm of steam-wagon repairers and manufacturers, founded in 1907 in Preston, Lancashire, Atkinson & Co. evolved into Seddon Atkinson Vehicles Ltd through a succession of mergers. Seddon Atkinson Vehicles Limited, a manufacturer of large goods vehicles based in Oldham, Greater Manchester, England, was formed after the acquisition in 1970 of Atkinson Vehicles Limited of Preston by Seddon Diesel Vehicles Limited of Oldham. In 1974, the firm was acquired by International Harvester, who sold it in March 1984 to the Spanish group Enasa which made it a subsidiary of Pegaso. In 1990, it became part of Iveco which used the brand for various types of specialised vehicles in the United Kingdom.

WRB2180 and WRB 2181 work loaded Watco grain train 6837 through Allan bound for Fishermans Island grain terminal.
Watco diesel locomotives WRB class 2181 and 2184 sitting waiting for action outside the company's base at Warwick in Queensland. These locomotives started life as Queensland Railways 2170 class built for coal traffic in Central Queensland. When the government hived off the bulk freight side of QR as a publicly listed company called Aurizon, many locomotives became superfluous to requirements. Like QR before it, Aurizon sold them off to interstate or overseas operators in need of locomotives but that could or would not operate as competitors. These locos and many of their sisters were sent to South Africa which needed a short term injection of motive power while waiting for delivery of a very large order of new locomotives.
Still wearing their ex. QR livery of the time, they were sold back to several Australian railway operators as Aurizon probably never envisioned that occurring. Many have since returned to their homeland, even like these two in the livery they were wearing at sale and probably never having operated in South Africa. Through various takeovers, some are back working in Queensland and some in a strange twist have even returned to Aurizon, although not operating in Queensland.
Watco is an American company who has set up in several Australian states operating freight and infrastructure trains. In Queensland, it operates the majority of grain trains and all cattle trains on contract to the Queensland Government and also other miscellaneous jobs.
They retain their QR numbers but Watco gives them the WRB class.
Some of Watco's grain wagons can be seen in the background. One of their trains was recently involved in a nasty and destructive level crossing smash on the Goondiwindi line and not for the first time. Australia has seen a rash of destructive and deadly country level crossing smashes over the recent years where heavy trucks have failed to stop before crossing tracks with an oncoming and close train.
So where have ex. QR locos gone - (may not be complete): New Zealand, Malaysia, Phillipines; Vietnam, Namibia, Senegal, Congo, South Africa, Chile, USA (rather unusual!); they have worked in every state of Australia and Northern Territory either with railway companies or in preservation; Queensland converted to 2 foot gauge for sugar mills, Queensland for several private companies and in preservation. Stainless Steel coaches from Brisbane suburban have gone off to Thailand and Chile (the desert of all places!) and former long distance air-conditioned cars are spread all over the countryside in Queensland and other states.
And finally, the prize goes to those which went overseas and have now returned to Australia for a third life in several states - South Australia, Tasmania and Queensland at least!
The closer loco is in the QR Bronco (maroon) livery, very faded and with the logo painted over mid side. The second loco is in the QR National abysmal Eagle livery which in my view meant nothing to anybody and is also is even more abysmal condition. It took QR until 2022/3 to come up with some new livery for its 2900 class and out of six locos, by the time they are all in service four different, sometimes quite different livery variations. I hope they chose one and get on painting their now much smaller fleet and give them some pride and a single identity.
