Welsh Pony rounds the curve at Boston lodge on the Ffestiniog Railway, past the old toll booth - once the scene of many a traffic queue as the 5p toll was diligently collected 3 June 2022
Ended up recreating this photo on as similar a WoT level as I could find - the '60s calendar was discovered in a little library.. how magical and cool the pages from the past.

I've spent a lot of the last few years dressing for parties and so on. Tonight was the first time that we had people over and I just thought "fuck it, I'll dress..."

With the line closed between Arundel and Billingshurst, 377 409 waits at Billingshurst to depart northbound. The station footbridge which would normally fill this view has been removed for refurbishment
A friendly wave from the driver of 56302 as she works 6M50 Westbury-Bescot through Leamington Spa Station with 59202 in for the ride. I`m not a fan of station shots as a rule, one of the reasons is for people wandering into shots. Sadly, this happened today, and despite 3 of us shouting at a pillock in green coat, complete with carrier bag and a little compact camera, he did not take heed, and simply made a rude gesture to us (not as friendly as the train driver!) Well, I`m sure he was happy with his shot which must have had loco passing through the shadow cast by the platform canopy,...... As tempted as I was to offer him more fingers (albeit clenched) than the gesture he made, I kept calm and let Photoshop deal with him when I got home! 26th February 2014.
We get quite a range of wildlife coming in the back garden but as common as they are weve never had a rabbit. I think its a wild one , there must be a hole in the back fence.
These last few days some of the border flowers looked like theyve gone missing and now i know why! This little b*gger is eating them! Caught in the act earlier! It has some sort of white growth on its back high up!

Our second moth trapping event of the season was so lacking in moths that we took to photographing snails. However, I think this turned out to be quite a fascinating one!
66 954 is in charge of a seemingly empty set of container wagons at Beggars Bridge on the March to Peterborough line with a Felixstowe to Doncaster service. Out of view towards the back of the train, there were just half adozen containers.
An 'umble pigeon dislikes being photographed during luncheon. Brindley Place Birmingham.
The picture was taken during a U3A Photography group photo shoot. The picture is 'as taken' except for the background which has had a degree of desaturation. The group is a bunch of cyclists who were taking coffee and snacks at Costa. Unfortunately they were wearing very high visibility clothing which was far too insistent for the picture I wanted however I did want some colour to balance the composition. This was one of about 8 taken but the only one with the pigeon looking 'right'

Russian light tank based on the French Renault FT, but with a new suspension system. It was used all the way through WWII, in dug in positions most of the time. I'm slowly making all the WoT starters. Next is the T1 Cunningham, followed by the Renault FT
Outrageous LOL !!:@D...
Despite the BBC 'Forgetting' to credit me for this Kingfisher shot on the Autumnwatch blog article linking to the blag about 'How dinosaur scales became bird feathers' on the BBC's Science and Nature page.... I'll let them off, on the grounds that it's quite an interesting read. If you click the picture below, it will take you to the original shot and a 'link' to said blog and on to the article.

Over the weekend, the UK national grid has run without any coal fired generation for at least 24 hours. After 40 years of burning the stuff it is a sad time, but time to move on. It's a clean future!!
In February 2016, a few weeks before total closure, Ferrybridge 'C' unit 3 is generating around 500MW on coal.
