The best shot here was another workman up on top of the church spire, balancing a piece of scaffolding precariously on his shoulder - I think this chap was waiting for it to come crashing down on him. Typically, as soon as I got my camera out, he disappeared.
My intention was to really show the pattern of the butterfly wing. Freeman lightly talks about using color to create the contrast and by having this black and orange wing against more subtle colors really makes the butterfly pop. I'm really pleased with the result, how much detail you see from the butterfly. I cropped the image and adjusted the levels and hue to make it look more warm. I dodged and burned areas in the image and finished off in camera raw filter.
