Prove spettacoli - marzo 2014

Idea for a necklace.. double strand of chain, single clasp, selection of purple beads - possibly swap out the hearts for something else (or just nothing?), perhaps move two of the rectangles to the lower strand..

Thought I'd play around with GIMP to plan a few thing and mix and match some ideas I have. A lot faster and more effective than trying to draw it out with pen and paper. Each part was drawn up on a seperate layer, so 'tis easy to add and subtract stuff without needing to begin from scratch each time.

Ink so wet it's still a little shiny

Quick and dirty pic of a piece I am currently working. Old shot - the cat had it's way with the tempera months ago and have been reworking ALLOT. I am attempting to be better at documenting as I create.

I am not sure that this should be considered an 'armature' in the purist sense of building something on a form, however, clamping a makeshift frame from rabbeted 2x2's to my banding wheel sure makes life a little easier on complex constructions...it either this or I need to grow a third and fourth arm.

More work on the face and the first layer on his top scales.

The use of the brush in this image is, of course, top secret and highly classified technology *grin*.

Work in progress. Since this photo was taken I've carved the bird wings and bisque fired the basin. The rest is ready to bisque, but I discovered I couldn't fire it all at once in my little kiln!

Basin is 13" wide, not sure of the height.
